55Oh my gosh, this place is awesome!!! Such a beautiful farm and so many things to explore. John and/or Stephanie will greet you and walk you through the pasture which is a super cute collection of happy animals. The first few times we were here I was so nervous about Cooper's reaction to the animals but he's all but oblivious to them. I never get over how easily he strolls through and it's been really good for him. He's honestly become a different dog over the last year of exposure to different animals and is now even making doggy friends. We owe much of that to this place specifically. Once you get across the pasture, you'll go through a gate to the Sniffspot. The first section is a grassy area with a creek running through it. There are some chairs for the humans and, if you have compostable poop bags, there is an underground poop compost. Cooper usually runs around here and splashes around in the creek for awhile and then we cross the bridge to the woods. John and Stephanie are always working on the Sniffspot and it seems we find something new every visit. New signs or sometimes even a whole new trail. We love wandering around here and hiking the trails. Cooper knows when there's something different right away and gets super excited to show me his new discovery. Really lovely spot. We always reserve 2 hours and it's barely enough. In the car on the way home we are already anxious for our next trip back. Thank you so much John & Stephanie...you guys are the best. ♥Susan D.

55Decided to give this a try since walking on a leash is not my dogs face, and they’re high energy- got the idea from a comment on a local FB community page- and this location overdelivered. Flat space to play frisbee/ball and lots of little trails and low areas for the dogs to explore. The creeks were a huge source of fun. Spent 2 hours here, brought a lunch and it flew by. Chairs and a cabin to sit at too. Great place to social distance and exercise w your dogs!Mitzi M.

55Our golden retriever (and my teenage boys) absolutely loved this property. Maisy loved wandering the trails, rolling in the grass, and swimming in the creek. She did not mind the farm animals in the pastures at all, and we felt very safe with her off leash once we crossed their pasture. We loved it and the hosts were very friendly. Thank you so much! 55I kinda don’t want to say how awesome John and Stephanie’s acreage is so it doesn’t become overrun with happy doggies. It is a beautiful place with lots of farm animals and enough nature to occupy any pup or young kids for a few hours. I took my two young kids (5 and 8) with our young energetic lab, Charlie. We explored trails and the kids waded into the stream. Charlie was in heaven! He jumped and swam and attempted to play with a few of the goats. I let Charlie off leash after John walked us through the pasture and past a gate so he could be separated from the farm animals. I kept Charlie on the leash when we were back in the general farm area as there were chickens, bunnies and goats. Can’t wait to return!Joy T.

55We had an amazing experience here! It was serene, beautiful, and really fun! We had a blast exploring the trails, letting our dog play in the creek, and chase the ball. We enjoyed being outside on this beautiful property and there was tons of room for our dog to sprint around. She had so much fun! John, the host, was so welcoming and showed us around when we arrived. We got to see all of the amazing animals on the property too. We booked two hours and I would recommend booking at least that because there’s so much to see. We hope to visit this spot again and would highly recommend! Chelsea W.

55Oh my gosh, dog heaven. Beautiful little farm with acres of forest behind it. John, the owner, was super nice. He met us and walked us through the pasture (my dogs did not react to the cattle or chickens), and up the hill. Lots of trails and little creeks. The paths are clear and maintained. There are several off shoot trails to explore and bridges across creeks. The dogs loved it. They ran and explored and had the best time. Can't wait to return.Janey W.

55Such a beautiful location with a wonderfully gracious host. I was delighted (!!) by the other animals we walked by to enter a fenced-off area that then expanded to well-kept trails, running creeks, and fresh green natural forest growth all around. Wait until you get there, there are more moments of wonder and delight that will you want to stay longer.P. S.

55I could not love this spot more! It is an outing for us as much as our pup. Maisy would swim in the creek there the whole time if we let her, but I love exploring all of the trails. It is truly a slice of heaven and the hosts are awesome! Merina H.

FAQ about our Parkland dog hiking trails
Are dog hiking trails safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks are much safer than a city or county park. With a Sniffspot off-leash area all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 93% of reviews on Sniffspot visits are 5 stars. Our hiking trails tend to be outside the city, which lends to more privacy, but it is also important to follow typical hiking safety precautions, such as potentially having trail maps.
How do I know if a dog hiking trail works for my dog?
Sniffspot provides the tools to find the ideal spot. Start by applying basic filters, such as fencing 6 feet tall and distractions, to find a dog park with trails that works for your dog. You can also filter by size if you are looking for a certain acre park, an expansive off-leash dog park. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our fully fenced dog hiking trails. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our dog hiking trails where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. Since you are looking for trails, make sure to check photos to see if it the spot has flat trails or gnarly trails. You can also browse by specific amenities, if you are looking for a view or a beach, for instance, or other activities or fun features. You can check whether the spot has off or on street parking, the regular park hours, whether it has paved trails or a modern restroom.
What are the requirements to bring my dog to a Sniffspot dog hiking trail?
In order to hike the trails, we require that all dogs have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. We do not permit dogs with a bite history. We require that guests sign our waiver and agree to follow our safety rules.
Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot hiking trail at the same time as me?
Sniffspot only allows one booking at a time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the spot during visits. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between bookings.
How much do Sniffspot hiking trails cost?
Dog hiking trails in the Parkland area range from $6.0 and $6.0. The least expensive dog hiking trail is Place to run your dog. The most expensive dog hiking trail is Place to run your dog. Each host sets their own price, so you can check the price on the specific Sniffspot dog park listing.
