Here’s what I will say to help determine if this place is a good fit for your dog being that it’s not fenced: we have been there when their neighbors were working their land (big machinery going) right up against the sniffspot. I chose to avoid that part of the spot for our whole visit because my dog is 9 mo old and super curious and his recall when he is “in the zone” is nil. With no fence there, I didn’t know if he would run towards them. Also, their neighbors do ride ATVs, I have neber seen them ride right along the sniffspot, but I would have to leash my dog because he would chase them. 55The paths were really nice and there was a cute little chest that had treats, water, balls, etc. However, if you have a dog reactive dog I would not recommend this spot :) I heard lots of barking from resident dogs that caught my dogs attention, making him more alert than I would’ve liked. Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers).
