55There’s shade, there’s sun, snacks and water, lots of space! The meadow was a tiny bit swampy at the end of May after all that rain but nothing a pair of solid shoes can’t handle.Julia M.

55The property was amazing — secluded, quiet, and peaceful. The marked trails and provided map made exploring easy and enjoyable, and our dog absolutely loved it. The added snacks for both us and our pup were such a thoughtful touch. We truly appreciated the attention to detail and hospitality!

55This was only our second visit as we live an hour away but it is so worth the trip. Easy to find, too! The property is so serene. There were some blocked paths due to downed trees, I'm guessing they got hit by the recent storms, too. But it didn't stop us from having a great time. Vanessa C.

55This was our first visit and we had a really great time! It was very relaxing with no one nearby in beautiful nature. There were snacks, there was water, there was a map, and best of all lots of space to run around freely.Julia M.

55The host was wonderful and set out snacks and water for the dogs and people. :) There is a wooded trail down to a stream and a huge open field with mowed trails for dogs to run. The spot is accessed by a long driveway off a dirt road so there are no cars nearby. This was a great, welcoming spot. We hope to be back!Anne H.

55Another fantastic visit to our favorite sniff spot! It was super chilly super windy but everybody was dressed appropriately and we had an absolute blast in the snow. Although one of the dogs did lose a booty out there somewhere lol!
As expected in this area that got more snow than we have in my area, I was glad that I had four wheel drive on the driveway. It wasn't bad but I could feel my four wheel drive kick in a couple times where there had been some blown snow making it deeper.tena p.

55We love this sniff spot. We booked it for a nice chilly winter morning to let our dogs stretch their legs. This time there were warm, fresh homemade cookies waiting in the cooler and it made our morning. Plus the dogs had a blast Samantha B.

55This spot is absolutely beautiful! So much room to roam! My dog , Dakoda, had the best day ever , playing in the creek and running through the leaves and woods. The picnic table and chairs throughout the property are a nice touch. Host also had a map of the property showing the trails. And snacks and water for my pup. This is a perfect spot for exercise and exploring for both you and your pup! Lynn A.

55We had another perfect visit to this sniff spot! I could not be happier to have had such a gorgeous late October day! There were a few new trails cut into the field since I was here last and i'm excited to check them out next time!
There was a MASSIVE flock of birds in the trees behind the fields that were so loud, it was pretty cool to experience that. Thousands and thousands of birds in the trees for like 100yds+. tena p.

55We'll be back! Even with a two hour booking, we didn't have enough time to explore all the great trails here. We tried a little bit of everything: dipped our paws in the creek, frolicked in the meadow, stalked some deer in the woods. The pups were very happy! There were a lot of busy bees in the field, which was great to see (lots of wildflowers despite our brutal summer this year!). The trail was very clean - we did see some scat that looked like it belonged to a fox! We didn't see any farm animals on our visit but did try to keep our distance from the area around the house. A few notes for other visitors: There is a helpful map provided but we still managed to get a little lost since not all the trails are super clearly marked - we wandered back into our main course before too long, and it was my own fault for not paying closer attention to which turns we took, but something to be aware of. I was a little nervous driving a Prius on the gravel road leading to the parking, but we made it without issue (might have to avoid this spot in trickier weather conditions though, at least in this car). No dog/people anywhere to be seen or heard, however we could occasionally hear a louder truck engine in the distance; we also heard what I think may have been a single gunshot at some point that the dogs noticed far off (or maybe an early firework for the holiday?). My dogs are both very sound sensitive, and yet recovered quickly from these rare interruptions to what was otherwise a serene walk! I had one dog on a long line, which was a bit tricky down by the stream area / pink trail but on the whole easy to manage, the trails are generally well cleared. There is no trashcan so just remember to plan to pack out any baggies. Talia P.

FAQ About Stahlstown Dog Parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 17% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Stahlstown area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 138 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our 293 off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can also filter locations to avoid other domestic animals and people. We also recommend reading reviews and reaching out to the host with any questions.
