Lauren's 0.62 Acre Fully Fenced Private Dog Park In Wilmington | Sniffspot
55It was our first time visiting Lauren’s yard and it was a beautiful space! She had RO water ready for us (I always bring some but it was very appreciated!) and there were some dog toys for us to use. I had read in the description to expect some chain link fencing and noted something about the neighbor’s dogs, so I chose to keep my deaf puppy on a long line and I’m glad I did! The neighbor’s dogs did come to the fence and bark (which then triggered the puppy to go a little crazy too), but my 9 year old shepherd mix touched noses and they seemed to be sweet dogs! Scout was an easy recall away and then the neighbor brought his dogs inside (probably because my little deaf guy took a moment to relax again). It ended up being a great training experience as we are working on excitement “reactivity” with his trainers! I would caution folks with reactive dogs not to book this spot, but Lauren is honest about the fencing situation and I know my dog isn’t aggressive (and the other one won’t jump the fence). Overall, the space was great to sniff around in. There was quite a bit of dog poop around the edges of the yard, but I recognize this is some pup’s home and we’re just thankful to have the opportunity to explore! Thanks for having us!!Courtney B.

55This was our first Sniffspot experience and it was well worth it! This property was easy to find and exactly as described! The fence provided privacy for my dog to run and play without distractions.

Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks.
