Welcome to our safe haven! I am the proud mama of and caregiver for reactive, fearful, and special needs dogs. We built this yard specifically for fence jumpers and dogs that need and deserve a quiet and private space to play. Our yard is spacious, wooded, and green with full 8ft privacy fencing including inwardly-angled fence extenders. Doggie extras: get ready for wooded trails, “barkour” obstacles, the perfect grassy bowl for fetch, agility jumps and tunnels, a tennis ball bit, splash pool in the summer, and so much more. For the humans - we hope you’ll enjoy our Adirondack chairs and when it’s warm, our hammock chairs and swing set. Our backyard is fertilizer and pesticide free, and we use pet-safe biodegradable salt in the winter on the driveway.

Rice Creek Sniffspot

A large, open 1.25 acre fenced in yard with multiple small hills that is bordered on the west side by a public walking trail (with 6 foot fence) and on the north side by Rice Creek (with 5 foot fence). Note that the creek is not directly accessible from the Sniffspot. During the winter months, deer and foxes pass just outside of the fenced in yard, while in warmer months the creek entices additional wildlife as well as the occasional canoeist or kayak. Agility equipment pictured are available during the warmer months and are not available in the winter. There's abundant street parking as we are located at a dead-end. Fully fenced: 1 side privacy fence, 2 sides chain link, and one side with the house and gate. Place bagged poop in the small garbage bin. Please do not allow pups to dig or to enter the small separately fenced garden. Spring 2024 the yard is very tender with grass trying to recover from last year's drought, if you remember, it helps to throw "fetch" in lots of different directions to spread out the "wear and tear." Added FYI: Same day bookings will probably have the bedtime and morning 💩 from my pups since I routinely only pick up after work during warm months. If you book 24+ hours in advance I can squeeze in an extra poo pickup before work. *WINTER I pick up weekly, weather-permitting, so might not be a great spot for pups who eat poopsicles--you know who you are!

It A completely wood and cyclone fenced area. Want to play in a safe area with your dog(s) at night? Flood lights will make the play area nice & bright. Off leash, privacy, play time for you, you/family, and of course, your beloved dog(s) Squirrels and rabbits pass through the dog park. My beloved miniature little brown poodle, Morty Mocha Wonka, once captured a fast rabbit in the side yard park that was bigger than himself, thus, Elvis Presley became his friend, and Morty was no longer a “Hound Dog” For warm or hot sunny days, the Red Maple Tree in the play area will provide you with instant shade, and it is the perfect spot for provided chair(s) where you can throw optional provided numerous rubber ball toys to your dog(s) to play fetch & retrieve. Perhaps your dog(s) would like to take a run thru the 12 ft nylon agility tube, the adjustable garden hose nozzle will provide you the option to relieve yourself(s) and dog(s) with a cold refreshing mist, including sanitized stainless steel water dish(es) at your disposal, For clean up, towels, hand sanitizer & plastic small poop bags are at your disposal with a trash can to get rid of anything undesirable. It would make me very happy to know your dog(s) are enjoying the converted side yard private dog park, as my beloved dogs did, especially my white standard poodle Buddy, who the dog park is named after. He loved to crouch down (because one time the ball hit him) by the pine trees and the very tall 20-30 ft high arborvitaes that line the west wood perimeter fence, as he waited for me to throw a rubber ball to him, that he would eagerly fetch and return to me. A canine, human experience, that will make you and your dog(s) want to return for more. Questions? A nice big backyard, in a moderately quiet corner of Richfield. Plenty of room for some zoomies or fetch! ❗️recently added some DIY agility equipment We’re near to the airport, two preschools, apartments, and Target. The privacy fence blocks most of the visuals, but it can get a bit noisy with kids playing and planes overhead. There’s a couple neighborhood dogs, a few bark from inside their homes. We have a resident cat who will occasionally snooze in the window sill. ⚠️ the neighbor dog has recently become an escape artist and will wander over from across the street to sniff the green space next to our yard. If your pup is dog reactive, this might not be the spot for you.

Had a great time at this spot! Plenty of space and lots to look at. There are chickens but they're secured. Gus (our pup) was pretty curious but he quickly got distracted by playtime and treats. We'll definitely be back!

Every bit as amazing as it looks! My 60-pound mix and her 50-pound pitbull friend had plenty of room to run and wrestle. The dogs needed to be redirected from the chickens and the garden beds, but it was easy to do since there's so much yard to explore. There's even a little sandbox for digging. Thanks for letting us play in your yard, Pepper!

Wow! when they say this is a paradise they werent kidding! this was a beautiful yard with lots of space to run in a very quiet tucked away neighborhood! My dog loved running the expanse of the yard and all the fun foliage to smell and the chickens to watch! Our dogs had a great time! The chickens are securely kept in the coop and didn't mind our dogs staring at them. The gate is secure but the latch is a little loose at the entrance. We didn't have any problem with that because our dogs were so busy exploring the yard! We will definitely be back!

We had a very good time here - our very large Great Pyrenees had plenty of room to play and cavort. Lots of toys. Yard was immaculate outside of a large brush pile in a corner of the yard. The last photo shows our huge dog (red arrow) looking tiny in this generously sized yard.

Great spot! Plenty of room to run. The chickens were almost unnoticeable. Plenty of extra balls and toys were around the yard. There were small dogs let out next door but my reactive dog was not fazed. Rip drank all the water in the dish that was set out, not sure if it was for us. It was a welcomed surprise after all the running.

Nemo had a great time sniffing around the yard and playing with the toys. There were also some nice accommodations for the humans! The fence was secure and there were plenty of plants and trees to sniff. Some neighbor dogs were barking while we were there- none directly next to the sniff spot, but pretty close.

Wonderful first SniffSpot experience! We brought our pups favorite balls but they spent the entire time sniffing around, chewing grass and rolling in dirt! The space is super clean, lots of shade even on a super hot day and quiet! Host is excellent with communication!
