A .63 acre dog sanctuary for you and your pup. The yard is well maintained with dog friendly grass and has incredible views of the Hood Canal and Puget Sound. If you're interested, there is private beach access for you and your pup to explore miles of beach (public but almost always empty). There are numerous dog toys available and a massive 6+ person, dog friendly couch (late Spring to early Fall) you can relax on and watch the canal when you need a break! Regarding the beach, there are approximately 50 steps which you will need to climb up and down to access the beach so please wear proper footwear. As this is on the Hood Canal and not a lake or a pond, tides impact the size of the beach. If you are hoping to walk endless miles of beach, the tide will need to be at 2ft or below. Anything under 4ft will give you a massive area (probably 1/2 mile or more) and almost guaranteed private area as only people with stairs can access the beach at this tide level. Though the beach is open at any point, I think the maximum height you would probably want to go is about 6.5ft. This still gives you and your dog a decent sized area to play in (approximately 500ft by 30ft or 1/2 acre). Photos 16 and 17 show the beach at 6.25ft with a very large sandy area for you and your pup to play in. Anything above 6.5 ft is not recommended as the beach just gets thinner and thinner, but you're able to try if you want. (no refunds given if you don't like what you find). You are responsible for checking out the tides before you go. Legally, I can't recommend any specific source for you to use, but you might find good information Googling "tide chart port ludlow". Regarding ADA Accessibility, my property is on a gently sloping hill. To access it, there are 2 very wide concrete steps to get to the grass. This would be doable for someone on crutches and probably ok for a regular wheelchair if you had a second person to help lower you to each step and pull you up. It's definitely not accessible to a motorized wheelchair. Sorry. Note - restroom is only available if I'm home, otherwise there is one approximately 2 miles northwest at the gas station in Port Ludlow

We offer five acres of partially mowed fields and a natural wooded area. There is a small pond and access to South Prairie Creek. The creek has a variable current, so it may be best for larger dogs. The pond would be ideal for smaller dogs who aren't strong swimmers. Trails began as deer/elk trails but have been improved. There are some small logs and rocks here and there to step over so sturdy shoes are recommended. The leaves that cover the trails in the fall may be a little slippery, so take care.

Excellent host and the site is spectacular for snuffling, running, and water play. Chickens were cooped up as said, and it’s hard to see the horses from the main play areas, so we didn’t have issues with our pup being too curious or distracted. The creek was a HUGE win for our Ridgeback and he loved getting to trot across all of the bridge options. Fencing was great. We will be back for sure!

We had such a blast!! The property is a true canine nirvana - well fenced, tons to sniff, paths and trees galore. The creek is amazing - my dog had such a grand time running in it, jumping over it,and sloshing to his hearts content. I loved that there was some seating, a trash bin, and of course the peace of mind that good country fencing provides.

This is a great SniffSpot! A beautiful property with plenty of room to Sniff and a fun creek for your dog to keep cool. There is plenty of shady spots to sit too. The property is very clean. We did see horses but the horses are far enough away that our dog did not see them. The host greeted us when we arrived. He was very nice and welcoming. What a wonderful place for our dogs! It was very easy to find and everything was superb! Our pups loved running through the cool creek and up the embankments. Dog paradise. This is such a perfect place to relax with your dog. There are three different enclosed areas. The first one is the gate leading to the host’s home. From there, you enter a second one which is a shaded grove of trees with chickens that are in their enclosure. And the third is the more open area area with the creek. It’s a perfect place to hang out with friends and dogs

Booked last minute to give our boys some running around time and Todd was very accommodating and kind! Communication with him was amazing and the area for the dogs was well maintained and park like. He has a nice shaded spot with an umbrella and picnic table which was nice to sit back and enjoy the joy of our dogs running in and out of the creek! Would recommend!

What are the requirements to bring my dog to a Sniffspot park?

We require that all dogs have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. We do not allow dogs with a bite history. We require that owners sign our waiver and agree to follow our safety rules. We also require that pet owners follow safety protocols around water features.

Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot park at the same time as me?

No. We only allow one booking at a time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the area during visits. So when you book a Sniffspot park you have the entire place to yourself and your dog-owning friends if you invite them. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between bookings so you will not run into other park patrons when coming or leaving.
