Magical Mossy Forest

Unfenced
5 acres

Magical Mossy Forest Sniffspot is a large mystical woodland adventure for dogs in Redmond on the way to Carnation. Boots are recommended in the winter rain. MMF is preferred by puppies, dogs, people, adults and kids alike because it has potable water, power, picnic tables, chairs, several firepits, lit portapotties, 3 swing sets, 3 slides, monkey bars, 3 Forts, a log bridge to cross over Little Ames Creek for when the creek is flowing, a doggy playground, lots of picturesque moss, lighted parking lot, woodchip trails and many footpaths over 5 forested moss covered acres. Parking is near the road, separated by 50 ft of woods, so we suggest that all our doggy friends be leashed until they are on the trails with you. Please leash your dog until into the forest away from the parking area, after that Bob's Your Uncle! Watch kids and dogs in the parking area near the road, and at Ames Creek. A secluded place to dork out and have fun, enjoying a natural Pacific rainforest. Note that the creek is dry in midsummer until the fall and winter rains kick in. Boots are recommended in the fall and winter. Find a map of the main trails in a photo on our MMF Sniffspot site. There are lots of foot trails through the understory ferns. The log bridge can be used to cross Ames Creek, or you can ford it to discover the rest of Magical Mossy Forest Sniffspot. Please pack out doggy bags with you because there is no garbage pickup here, please leave no trace. If there is a downpour and you want to wait it out there is a dry shed in the parking area. Access to power helps keep your batteries charged. Please carry your toilet paper (sorry it walks away). The portapotties are cleaned once a week. Please visit our Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61555379018442 Let us know if you have any questions. Synchronized play bowing to you!

Camp Dilly Dally Doggie Park In Buckley

Partially Fenced
5 acres

We offer five acres of partially mowed fields and a natural wooded area. There is a small pond and access to South Prairie Creek. The creek has a variable current, so it may be best for larger dogs. The pond would be ideal for smaller dogs who aren't strong swimmers. Trails began as deer/elk trails but have been improved. There are some small logs and rocks here and there to step over so sturdy shoes are recommended. The leaves that cover the trails in the fall may be a little slippery, so take care.

124 Acre Conservation Farm Trails Fields Fun

Unfenced
124 acres

Follow our FB page for open days. Farm store now open! Swing in before your appointment and grab some retro sodas, dog beer (YES I SAID DOG BEER!), artisan smores kits and so much more! CASHLESS sales at the store please. Malaney Creek Farm is a 124 acre conservation farm comprised of fields, forest and wetlands. 3+ miles of private trails, open grassy fields. Trails are marked to keep you pointed in the right direction. Picnic tables, covered areas to duck out of the weather and portable restroom with hand sanitizer. Your sniffspot staging area is located in what we call our "Cascara" campsite. Covered picnic table, adirondack chairs, firepit and a big green grassy field. This spot is a central location near the portable restroom, easy drive in access, and a base location for exploring the trail network. Our trail system has been a labor of love. We enjoy providing unique experiences and highlighting the natural beauty of the forest and wetlands on the property. Once home to giant cedar trees the property was purchased by the Great Northern Railway in the late 1800's. A railroad system was built here and the giant cedars logged and milled onsite. You wouldn't be able to tell that now as the forest is doing a wonderful job of repairing itself. We do have a few artifacts scattered about that have been found that you will see on your walks. A large concrete trestle base, railway beams, rail spikes and misc metal items from the trains and equipment. Most of our trails accommodate hiking and mountain bikes (yes E-bikes are allowed ;), however the hiking only trails are really evolving. Our new wetlands trail is a quick link between Casacara and the Beargrass island trail. It is foot traffic only and features hand hewn cedar bridges made from cedar logs left behind by the logging operation over 100 years ago! Log rounds to hop across wet areas and places to stop and soak in the quiet. There is a diverse landscape of rare native plants on this hike and foraging opportunities abound! Fiddle head ferns, chicken of the woods and more! Our most prized flora is a large patch of Labrador Tea. A very rare species of plant related to the rhododendron that native american peoples used as a medicinal healing tea. So come out and explore! Bring appropriate footwear, your furry hiking buddies, a bottled water, and a camera. We look forward to hosting you! PLEASE NOTE, IF YOU CANCEL WITHIN THE 2 HOUR WINDOW BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT THERE ARE NO REFUNDS. WE BLOCK OUT ALL DAY BOOKINGS FOR SNIFFSPOT APPOINTMENTS. Check out our website, insta and FB page for more photos too! Happy Sniffing!!l

55A M A Z I N G ! ! ! This was the best Sniffspot we’ve been to by far. John was very welcoming and showed us the ropes. He understood we had two very young and spastic golden retrievers lol. His wife Stephanie was very sweet as well. The property itself feels massive. What a treat to walk through a pasture full of farm animals (on leash or course) to get to the Sniffspot. There are ample trails, mixed terrain and the most beautiful flowing stream. We have a 1 yr old golden retriever, Levi, and a 5-month old golden retriever, Oakley. Oakley lived for the water! She swam for the first time, too. Levi was able to practice his swimming skills, too. There are little holes deep enough for safe dog swimming though I’m sure the stream changes through the year. What a magical place. The dogs loved watching the farm animals, too. So many new experiences for them and we’re so thankful to have been able to enjoy your slice of heaven. We will definitely be back to explore what we didn’t have time for! Both dogs were knocked out on the way home, very unusual for Levi :)

55A really beautiful spot with lots of room to explore. My dog is always tired afterwards and dozes off on the way home. An added bonus is that I get my exercise too on the hilly terrain. Highly recommended spot!

55Great space, lots of variety in terrain. There were open spaces, trails, bridges and a river. Lucy (8 mo Pitty) was completely engaged and my 6 and 9 yr nieces had a great time. Easy to find and hosts were helpful and kind.

55Visited this gorgeous spot with my pup and partner for the second time yesterday! We love this Sniffspot so much - John and his family are so kind. The trails are pristine and we love the little cabin deck to have a nice picnic lunch. It’s truly a wonderful little slice of heaven and we’re so excited to continue visiting this summer!

55This is a beautiful spot, with a meadow and streams to play in and lots of fun little trails. We were there for 90 minutes, and we did not get bored! You will initially pass through a field with some cows, a goat, and turkeys, so be prepared if your dog has a strong prey drive, as mine does. Also keep in mind that there is a quiet road that runs along the top of the property, and there is no fence between the property and the road. I mention this for those whose dogs might not be good about staying out of roads (or who want to chase cars, as mine does!). I would highly recommend this Sniffspot, and I'm looking forward to visiting again!

55Such a beautiful gem. My dogs absolutely loved running all up and down through the woods and in the streams. The trails were beautifully maintained and benches all throughout for sitting to listen to the stream and admire the beautiful landscape. The host, Stephanie was so nice and welcoming and I truly enjoyed learning about their fabulous place. Lots of farm animals wandering around in the pasture area and the dogs did great around them. I loved the beautiful turkey walking around and fanning his feathers! Such a wonderful place, I felt like I was a friend when I left and the dogs got so much enjoyment they slept the whole way home!

55We love Spring Acres and return to it often. It’s very private and it has everything a dog could want - wooded trails, creeks and for the ball obsessed canine, large open areas to play fetch. The only thing it doesn’t have is an ocean beach but for the salty sea pup in your family there are a couple sandy areas by the creek to nose around in! The property is really beautiful right now too with all the spring growth emerging. It’s still muddy so be sure to wear appropriate shoes or boots. Stephanie and John keep improving the spot too with things like new trailhead signage and a new trail. All in all it’s a great spot!

55Spring Acres is the place to be! Stephanie is a wonderful host who met us to give an introduction to the park and provided a beautifully illustrated map. It was so much fun for us to wander the trails and sit and listen to the creek and the breeze. The park is spacious, charming and well maintained. Most definitely worth the trip from the city!

55If I could give this place 5,000,000 stars, I would. Same with our pup, Freyja. We brought her here as a gift for her 3rd birthday, and she had the time of her life! Baked her a cake, and let her run around worry-free for 3.5 hours! John has got to be one of the most kind-hearted and animal loving people out there, and we were blessed for the opportunity to enjoy his and Stephanie's land. Thank you a million, and we will DEFINITELY be back!!! An experience of a lifetime.

55I was nervous at first about bringing 4 reactive dogs to a Hobby Farm, but the owners welcomed us with a smile and guided us, gave us space when we needed it, and we had the pleasure of seeing and learning about all of their beautiful livestock animals. It was so nice to enjoy their beautiful park for the evening with my pups, I look forward to visiting again soon.

55The perfect doggy playground! Gorgeous property with a well-maintained network of forested trails to explore, creeks to splash in, and some grassy flat areas to zoom around. Note that to get to the off-leash area from the main/front entrance, you'll need to walk your leashed dogs past a bunch of (very friendly) farm animals. Super cool to see, but it feels like running the gauntlet for me with excited, prey-driven, and strong sled dogs. But they have a new parking area at the back of their property now which avoids having to walk past the farm animals. Also, the property is very sloped, and can be tiring to walk up and down. Wear good shoes--if you visit after a very heavy rain (as we did), some places may be muddy. The hosts are super kind people who obviously put a ton of effort into maintaining their property. We're looking forward to visiting again!

55Took my 2 dogs here today & they had a BLAST! John greeted us & gave us a tour of the property right when we arrived. There are so many fun little trails to explore, as well as a creek for the pups to play in. One of my dogs had never seen goats before & I wasn’t sure how she would react, but John let me know there is a separate access point where you do not have to walk through the animals’ pasture. This place is beautiful & is out new favorite hang out spot!

This place is beautiful & is out new favorite hang out spot!

FAQ about our Lake Tapps dog hiking trails

Are dog hiking trails safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks are much safer than a city or county park. With a Sniffspot off-leash area all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 93% of reviews on Sniffspot visits are 5 stars. Our hiking trails tend to be outside the city, which lends to more privacy, but it is also important to follow typical hiking safety precautions, such as potentially having trail maps.
