55We had an amazing time! Soooo much space, the dogs really got to enjoy exploring the trails. It was muddy but we came prepared thanks to Sherry, the lovely host. The cabin was set up with a warm fire and snacks, which was lovely for the humans. All in all, wonderful experience! Jordan A.

55This was such a fun spot! Easy to find, lots of trails to explore. We went on a rainy day so there was quite a bit of mud and water but with the right outerwear it was completely fine. my dog had a blast in the puddles 😅
Trails were marked and groomed, fairly easy to navigate. there was a separated place to park which was right next to the house, with a sign.
We didn’t see wildlife this time but I’m sure they may frequent this spot!
It’s close to the 401 and a great pit stop in our road trip.

55Many acres to explore close to Brockville. We didn’t get through them all with the snow but we’ll definitely be back. Sherry was quick to answer any questions I had about parking and trail access.Lauren R.

55My husband and I brought our 4 year old 75 lbs Goldendoodle to Wagging Tails Trails for the first time Saturday morning. We were a bit concerned as the property is not enclosed and in all his excitement his doodle brain sometimes takes over and he forgets his manners as well as everything we have ever taught him. Fortunately it was absolutely not an issue.
The property is huge and the trails are far away from the road. We kept him on his lead until we were in the trails as the host wisely suggested.
We spent about an hour walking the trails and had a wonderful time as did our dog. The trails are well-marked with coloured pipe cleaners and although it had recently snowed, they were clear and in excellent condition. We did not encounter any other people, dogs or wildlife on the trails during our visit. Our dog was able to run freely up and down the trails and in the clearings around the trails. He was exhausted by the end of the hour and thankfully left all his zoomies in the woods.
We will return to Wagging Tails Trails without hesitation and strongly recommend it to other dog owners looking for a winter walk in the woods with their dogs.
Thank you Sherry for kindly sharing your beautiful property with us.

55Great trails for a dog who loves forests. A big enough space that my dog could get up to top speed. She left with her tongue hanging out the side of her mouth: the sign of success.
A couple of things to be aware of: mud and ice on trails. Bring a walking stick and/or grips if balance is an issue. Bring towels if your dog is a mud monster Ro W.

55I had a wonderful hike with my dog and kiddos on this trail! It was convenient to have a separate driveway access to the trails. Once you get past the yard/field, the trails are lovely and secluded. There are some deep rivets that can be muddy after the rain, so wear good hiking boots. The little cabin was a nice layover and the hosts were so sweet to leave fresh water for the pups, treats, a lead (if you need it), and other amenities to make your hike enjoyable. I can imagine the woodstove would be a welcome treat on winter hikes! We were moving at toddler pace, so we didn’t get far, but it looks like there are plenty of trails to explore! My dog loved it! Definitely recommend :)Jennifer C.

55We went for an hour walk through the trails. We could have easily spent two hours exploring, there are lots of paths to follow. Some of the trails are a bit rough so wear hiking shoes. The owner left clear instructions for us and trail markers. They also left water in a cabin on the property for our dogs. The cabin was nice and toasty (fall weather out) and we thought it would be ideal for winter walks to have a place to warm up. We definitely will be back in the winter months! My one dog is wild and we tried her off leash but she was out of sight too often as there are woods and tall grass all around so we kept her on a long line. We didn’t see any animals, domestic or wild. Overall my dogs really enjoyed the walk! We will be back again :)Shelby M.

FAQ About Prescott Dog Parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 7% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Prescott area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 24 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our 83 off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can also filter locations to avoid other domestic animals and people. We also recommend reading reviews and reaching out to the host with any questions.
