55We were looking for a quick place to run around after a whole bunch of rain kept us inside. This yard was long, grassy and fenced. The fence is chain so you will see neighbors but it backs up to vegetation so it felt private. Fence to enter is up the driveway, super easy to find. Bring your own toys, doggie trash bags and a bowl with water for your pup. It was nicely shaded around 5pm on an April spring evening. Owner is super nice and communicates If you have questions! 55Megan and her partner greeted me and my pup Zulu (per my request) and provided water bowls and were very nice, especially since it was a last minute booking the day-of. Great space to run around that’s super convenient to where I live—will definitely be coming back. Unique option if your dog likes playing with another dog one-one-one, they have a lab mix that I agreed to letting Zulu meet and they played super well together! My only suggestion would be adding doggy bags but I had my own to pick up after Zulu so it wasn’t an issue, and there was a trash bag outside. Easy access gate and fully fenced so I didn’t have to worry about Zulu escaping. Callie E.

55Yard was a good size. Fence was secure. Water and poop bags were provided. My dogs enjoyed sniffing and exploring the yard. We did not see any dogs during the visit which was great! I highly recommend!Henley C.

55We had a really fun time at Honeybee dog park!
Our booking was really short notice but they were ready for us and very accommodating. They helped fill the pool and it was a great sized yard with lots of exploration opportunities.
The road is close-by but there’s no sidewalks or anything so people and other dogs seem scarce. The fence was very secure.
The grass is really quite tall in places, and there was actually quite a bit of drying-up dog poop around but the yard is large and it didn’t really affect us too badly. Talia N.

55This is a fantastic spot! The yard is huge with lots of space to run around, sniff, explore, and has some shady spots to cool off. Host was very communicative and friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. My dog (about 50 lbs) has hopped fences and wriggled through gates, and I wasn’t worried at all about her getting out. My dog did get curious and got up onto the back deck at one point before I could stop her, which made the resident dogs bark a bit, but it was no biggie I could redirect her pretty easy and the dogs stopped barking. Only thing I’d add would be a small barrier to the deck steps which I think would solve that issue. Emma P.

55The place was really clean and nice, my puppy loved it. The only thing would like to share with future guests is that have your dogs and yourself protected with extra mosquitos repellent or patches.

55The boys and I had so much fun today! We’re grateful for all of the space to run around and explore - even on a hot day, the boys ran around in the sun and cooled off in the shade. Doodle loved the pool & getting misted with the hose, and Mac was very happy about the large bowl of cold water :)Tara N.

55The fence was secure for our three Aussies. When they went to an area of the yard we couldn’t see from where we were standing, we didn’t worry they would escape. The yard is large to play fetch and for the dogs to run. There were also many places to sniff. Two kiddie pools and a hose were available for use which was great since it was hot. There was a trash can which is always a plus!Molly V.

55This is the first place that has been actually conveniently located to UNC campus and such a helpful find!! She was super accommodating with my schedule. The spot does have a bit of a slope, but other than that it was a great place to play and has a “private” gate entry. Will definitely be back! Joline T.

55Beautiful, wooded backyard with tons of interesting things for my pup to explore. Sarah had furniture available to us and water for our dog! She was super responsive to my messages and answered all of my questions quickly! Will definitely be back very soon. Megan M.

55Had a great time. It was much too hot to run, so the visit was more about sniffing than playing. Wear good shoes as the yard is a hill. Normal debris on the ground for a wooded spot. You will need bug spray, with the rain and heat the mosquitos will carry you away. Pauline C.

FAQ about our Prospect Hill dog parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 96% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Prospect Hill area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 138 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our 25 off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby.
