Welcome to our Doggy (& Human) Haven! We offer 34+ beautiful acres of partially fenced property. Wide Open Field/Meadow & a vast lush natural Forest with trails. Gift your dog(s) the experiences of positive enrichment- with multiple opportunities to explore, play, train & have fun! Let them climb boulders, logs, chase squirrels, play catch, find a favourite stick, run, jump, practice training exercises and sniff to their hearts desires. We have 4 main trail systems with several interconnecting mini trails offering you a new adventure every visit! Having 2 large working dogs ourselves, we know what your furry friend needs! A newly constructed, clean outhouse is now available for our guests! Our trail is wide, perfect to bring a friend and catch up while your dogs run. The trail is well-marked with excellent visibility to keep track of your dog(s). There is very little elevation gain on the walk, so it’s well-suited to take your dog(s) out for a run or a leisurely stroll. Deer sightings are common and you may even spot our resident owl or the bald eagles that nest nearby. Ample parking is available at the trail head and a Little Free Library is located at the end of our driveway. We are a short trip from both Belleville and Quinte West. *Price is in USD.

Updated November 17 2024 Daily 7:30 A.M. until 4:30 P.M. we offer a partially fenced 100 acre property where your dogs can run free. We have 2 official trails currently, plus 2 groomed 1 acre field play areas. At this time there are also 2 large fields that have been harvested of soy and are perfect for walking and playing. We have chairs in the first field for you to relax. We have a Chuckit available to throw balls for your dogs. Fresh well water in a bucket, for dogs, and bowls, are provided in the first field also. There is a pond at the bottom of the first field to the right. I don't recommend it for humans at all and only for dogs in May, but dogs have been swimming in there all summer and fall and seem to be liking it fine. From there we have a mile long gravel walking trail along fields and forest. It's very straight, and if you stay on the trail, you can't get lost. It is very quiet and peaceful. You can often see deer, wild turkeys and lots of birds, sometimes bald eagles. A walk to the end and back is 2 miles and takes 40 minutes at a moderate pace. Part way back the main trail goes through a shallow marsh. In the spring the frogs singing is quite remarkable! Further along there is a small run-off creek and metal culvert that is suitable for dog swimming in the spring. This is marked with orange (now kinda yellow) pylons so is avoidable if you put your dogs back on a lead as you pass. Just past the culvert, we offer a trail around 2 plowed wheat fields going East. It's along woods and takes about 15 minutes ending back on the main trail. In the second wheat field, there is a trail cam along the edge on the far East side, so be advised. It faces the deer blind on the opposite side of the field. 4 people bow hunt our property, but not very often, and the Spot will be closed when they are hunting. Only bow hunting is allowed, except for one week in December and no one will be allowed to walk the property during that week. I have photos posted to show you where the cameras are. They are totally avoidable! They are up from October through December and if we do capture your image, or your dog's, we will simply delete it. Note that our calendar will be blocked whenever the Spot is being used for any sort of hunting. Just past the entrance to the wheat fields on the main trail, we have several fields that have been harvested and are very flat. They have now been planted with winter wheat. You can go wherever you like on these fields! Just past these fields on the main trail, there is a deer tree stand on the West side. Currently we have a trail camera at the base of this stand so be advised. It faces along the tree line, going north so is easy to avoid. After this you will reach the base of the big hill along the main trail. The main trail ends at the top of this hill. Please stay out of the woods until we've got snow on the ground and you can find your way out. We do use the woods a lot, so there are trails but they aren't always obvious to others. We don't want folks getting lost! Be dressed for gravel on the trail, uneven footing on the wheat field trail, and potential water and mud puddles on the property in wet seasons and after rain. The main trail runs North/South so if you want a sunny walk, go at midday. A shaded walk, go after 3 p.m. We have a white garbage can for poop but please use biodegradable dog poop bags. ***IMPORTANT: all prices listed are in USD, $12 per hour for the first dog, subsequent dogs are $6/hour and guests will be charged in USD*** On your way home, stop at MacKinnon's brewery just down the road for food and drinks. If you come during darkness please message us by 7pm so we can leave lights on for you and we have WiFi access upon request! 😊 You can also head out and explore the lovely boutiques, antiques and dog friendly patios of downtown Brighton or take a nature hike in Proctor Park (must be on a leash) 1 minute walk away! Got a sandy pooch from the beach? No worries! We have a hose with a shower head and sprinkler attachments to rinse off with! Towels are provided with notice. Parking is available for 2 guest cars parked behind ours in the driveway or free parking is available all around the downtown portion of Brighton which is a 5 min walk away! I ❤️ my Beagle/Lab cross Clover, and our lovely Village of Lakefield. With great walking trails, open fields and dog friendly swimming access on the Otonabee River; all within 5 minutes of my property. Or rather; Clover's PAW-some 🐾 Agility FUN Park, that is! Which, though not fenced, is half surrounded by a thick cedar hedge, has more than 15' of property line trees/lilac hedge, two 8' wide sheds and our 20' wide garage surrounding the back yard and agility course. ***Charges in USD*** Come enjoy our 100 acre property with an established trail, a pond and a hilltop area with a picnic table, seating and fire pit. We are located only 10 minutes west outside of Peterborough. Our property is home to wildlife such as turkeys and deer - although it may be rare to spot them. **WINTER DISCLAIMER** Due to the size of our property, our trails are not plowed during the winter so we highly recommend wearing winter boots, spikes, snowshoes to enjoy the trails.

He is close to 60lbs and growing, had him since he was 2 months old and she is about 2 yrs old we have had her since she was 4 months old and is a registered support dog. We love dogs and our dogs love to run around and play - we have toys you are welcome to use (in a white plastic container) and many sticks they chew that your dog(s) are welcome to also enjoy. We will have a small table with two chairs for humans to sit and enjoy a hot beverage and snacks (extra charge) and dog treats for your dog to enjoy, homemade and store bought ones. We ask that you purchase the dog treats (5 or more is extra charge) but we have a container out in case your dog would like to try before you buy :) we ask only 1-2 treats per dog. Sit and relax if you have more than one dog with you or have a blast playing around - watch it, lol our dogs LOVE to hide under the large ever green tree in the back, yours might discover it as well :) Only the pool, hot tub and garden areas are off limits. We ask that the dogs and humans remain off the hot tub lid as it will break. The very back is fenced off as there is water build up (lacks drainage) that we are trying to repair and open it up in the future. We are beside a man made river and farm land so expect to see wild animals. In the Summer there is a doggy pool to cool off in...ducks in the river and many other animals that cross into our property. The yard is fully fenced - no digging please we are just getting our puppy use to no digging :) they are a lot of work aren't they, but full of love and loyalty. We hope you like our yard. We are open to suggestions - so please make any. Our female is very protective of her property and has free in the house so you might hear her barking...he also barks she has taught him well on how to protect the property. Summer time you can ice cubes for your dog(s) not sure how long they will last, but you are welcome to request that.
