There is no perfect way to describe how wonderful Emotional Rescue is. I have never “met” anyone like Shannon. She is so professional, loving and caring to all of her rescued dogs. Being a medical rescue, she handles some really tough cases. But she always puts their needs first, working well into the night to be certain all of her pups are taken care of. Shannon not only helps them physically, but helps them face the real world with or without their special needs. There are even sanctuary dogs who are gentle and kind that act as surrogate parents, teaching puppies how to become emotionally stable. She has many times stayed up all night long rocking a little puppy that has just come into Rescue and is afraid and sick. For the little pups that are medically and emotionally fragile, Shannon puts them in a baby carrier, straps it on, and carries it around for body warmth and to hear her heart beat. We have seen her bring her healing and love to so many dogs that would never have made it otherwise. Every post she makes is positive and wonderful and shows off all the dogs as they truly are. She shows us the good and the bad and involves all of her followers and everything that she does which is amazing. There’s just no way to say enough about Emotional Rescue and Shannon. I also need to add that all of the rescuers that support Shannon are amazing!!! The vet the rescue uses is wonderful. When there is a potential adoption, they are nicely but rigorously checked out to be sure they are suitable in every way to be a puppy parent! I believe God put Shannon and her rescue volunteers on this earth to help all these little ones that would’ve died otherwise. And she goes about it joyfully and happily and yes, sometimes is incredibly sa when she has to help them over the bridge because the pain is too great on earth for them, but she always seems to do exactly the right thing for these little ones who are so needy. It is truly an honor to be able to follow this fantastic rescue organization.
FaerieLand Rescue provides essential care and adoption services to German Shepherds and Corgis. We strive to protect and promote these two breeds. FaerieLand Rescue Inc. is a foster-based rescue located in Minnesota. We welcome purebreds and mixes of German Shepherds and Welsh Corgis, including owner-surrendered, abused, neglected and stray dogs, as well as those from animal control. We educate the public on spaying and neutering of dogs and the importance of vaccinations, training and socialization. All dogs at the rescue are evaluated with the goal of rehabilitation and placement in a FUREVER home. Over 400 dogs have been saved since commencing operations.

  • German Shepherd

Adoption Policy

You must complete our online application. You must pay the non-refundable $25 application processing fee. You must be at least 21 years of age to enter into a contract to adopt a dog. You must consent to a background check. We look for a history of violent offenses/domestic violence. You must provide two personal references, who are not family members who have known you for at least three years. You must provide a veterinary reference who can attest to your care of previous pets. You must live in a home with a fenced yard (6-foot fence) to adopt a German Shepherd. We prefer homes with fenced yards for Welsh Corgis as well, but this can be taken on a case by case as Corgis are more adaptable to apartment living than German Shepherds. If you live in a rental situation, you must show proof you are allowed to have a dog in your rental agreement. We do not adopt German Shepherds to people living in apartments/rental situations. We have a Living Will in our adoption contracts so that in the case of a person not being able to care for the dog, becoming ill, Death, or some other situation, the dog will be cared for or returned to the rescue.

Thousand Oaks, California has been a safe haven for Sniffspot host, Jen, since childhood. Having grown up in busy Santa Barbara, Jen, an introvert from an early age, would seek out solitude and serenity away from tourists attractions and droves of people visiting from elsewhere. “My grandparents own 60 acres about a 30 minute drive from here, and I grew up spending every summer and every holiday visiting them on the ranch,” Jen explained. “In Santa Barbara, we wouldn't go to the beach on the weekend because that's where everybody was, so you'd find places off the beaten path where the tourists weren't. For me, the ranch was just my happy place.”
