But you will come across Canadian Geese and Wild Turkeys, and sometimes Deer. You may hear a dog bark in the distance depending on air quality, but it will be faint. You can take an easy hike along the field edge, or let your pet have the full experience of sniffing out coons, opossums, squirrels and many other things in the woods. The woods trail is steep and sloped for a portion of the way, and eventually joins the field edge trail. Neither trail is cleared of snow, but the woods trail mostly doesn't have a deep snow layer. Both trails give you access to the creek. Round trip to the back of the farm and back is 30-40 minutes at a good hike. In the summer, a beautiful rest camp is set up at the back for you to detox and enjoy the silence while your dog is in the water. A hose and/or small pool is provided at the front for your dog's rinse.

About 65 acres is walkable and we have trails throughout. We are learning as we go, and hope to provide you and your dogs a fun day. If you have any question feel free to ask. And remember, we love dogs just as much as you do. There are a few important points we'd like you to consider. We like to meet our new guests for the first time. This gives us a chance to get to know you better and also put friendly faces to us, the hosts. We want you to feel welcome and know that we care about your dogs. We have several trails that split out to other trails. There will be signs to help you navigate through them, and some suggestions that will help you keep track of remaining time. In the colder months, running water will not be provided. We will also reserve the right to cancel the appointment if we get heavy snow squalls. Our plan is to keep the trails plowed, but in the event of a snow storm, it may take us a few days to get the trails plowed. In general, we will not be open past dusk, unless you specifically ask us and are aware of the risks of walking in the dark. I always walk my dogs on winter nights. Just carry some sort of flashlight. We currently have an electric gate that can only be opened by us at the gate, and not remotely. When a guest arrives, we will be there to open the gate for you, close it once you're in, and open it again upon your departure. Lastly a note about safety. Safety is important to us, but please note that you are entering nature. Our spot is home to many small animals, including porcupines. If your dogs are into porcupines, I would stay cautious of your pets entering the dense bush and recommend they stick to the trails instead. The probability of spotting a porcupine though is very low. Other animals will simply not bother human visitors and their dog companions. You may spot a deer or two if you're lucky that day. Deer are mostly friendly, but I would suggest keeping your distance if you spot a buck. However, they typically flee when they spot you. In all my years spotting buck, I've never seen one charge at anyone. Still, be safe. Although very rare, you many spot a coyote. Once again, they generally don't bother humans. If you spot one, keep your dogs close. Coyotes don't like confrontations with humans, so your dogs will be safe if by your side.

Our farm is located on 100 acres of beautifully scenic property and we have opened 26 acres of that space for you to explore. While the forest can be dense in spots, it is very walkable and presents a lovely spot to hike through. We have 5 ponds as well as a stream that runs the width of our property and travels through the forest. We have a myriad of wildlife that you may see or encounter during your adventures here. These could include (but are not limited to) great blue herons, muskrats, rabbits, geese, ducks, deer and coyotes. We do have livestock and a guardian dog on the property (they are fully fenced) as well as family pets so please respect their space and ensure your dogs are leashed anytime you are nearing the barn, paddock or barnyard areas.

You can tell a lot of care has gone into keeping things safe for everyone. The host came out and gave us a greeting and provided us with a map, contact info and friendly reminder to wear bug spray, which is a must for any wooded activity at dusk. My dog and I had a great time here! Trails were easily labeled, well groomed, and clean! Didn’t hear another sound the entire time! Beautiful place to go for a walk! We will definitely be back! My dog particularly liked the puddles but he was easy to wipe with a towel and there is also an extra available for a “doggy hose off” to hose off your pup before getting in the car which I loved as it let me relax more and let him play in the water all he wanted :) can’t wait to go back! Will be amazing colours in the fall!

Great little loop and walking venue in the forest and near a pond. Oreo absolutely loved his sniffari. The owners were so kind and I did forget one of the rules and I did sincerely apologise after as Annie did come to gently and kindly check on us. And I ask other visitors to be respectful of this rule and not forget it as I did. It is that when returning to vehicle, do not hang around at the vehicle and socialize. No lingering please. They have a reactive dog that sees us through the house’s window and hears us on his property and is apparently tearing the window frame apart. So, my apologies again to Annie that we decided to drink our tea and rusks at the vehicle before setting off. We will take our tea on the trail for sure next time. Do bring mozzie spray and do embalm yourselves in it because the moment we stopped, we were swarmed. A great big thank you to the owners for allowing us to use the land for off-leash dog walks. Very grateful. 🐾🐾

This is our second time visiting and I know we will be regulars going forward. I did find it abit confusing following the map at first but quickly realized if you just look for the blue stripes on the trees it’s very clear where to go. If you don’t see any blue stripes, you probably got off course and you just have to look around to find it and you’ll be ok. I love it here because Archie doesn’t stay on the path but loves to go through the bushes and jump through the forest. A few other sniff spot places he’s come across a lot of burrs as a result which makes clean up after so time consuming. Bu here it’s very minimal maybe a little one here and there and easy to remove so it works well for us. We could easily stay more than an hour, for sure in the future. We took note of the comments from others about mosquitos so we came prepared from that perspective although the second time there was very little. Would 100% recommend.
