55This is a great spot with tons of space and fun obstacles for your dog to enjoy. You may want to bring bug spray to keep the pests away but if you forget yours, the owner has kindly provided some for you. Fresh water is also available for your dog. A great spot!Kaylee B.

55Sisu had a blast this morning at our visit. He wasn’t sure which way to go first there was so much for him to engage in. He’s definitely tuckered out. Khala P.

55The dogs had an awesome time! The park itself is big and has lots of things for them to climb in or on and lots of room to run. There’s a small section to the right that’s got trees and lots for them to sniff. The amount of toys available was such an amazing touch and my dogs loved playing fetch with the chuck it balls and frisbee! My only little complaint is whoever used the park before spilled some kibble on the platform (which my dog with allergies ate). But other than that it was a great time and we will be back :) Grace C.

55More interesting for our 3 dogs than an empty field. Tall trees offer some shade. Fences are high enough for our Rottie and 2 Jack Russells. Deborah B.

55Dogs had a great time. My Frenchie loved the obstacles and tunnels. My older dogs enjoyed sniffing and exploring. There were more muddy areas than I expected. Just be prepared to wipe down your dog and ideally have a car seat protector. Bobbiann G.

55First visit and I was very happy with the this location, Capital Bark Park. Clean and nicely laid out for both dogs and humans.
Lots of room for the dogs to sniff about and to zoom around.

55Enough space for my pup to go full tilt on zoomies, obstacles to play on, a cute sheltered sitting area for you (if your dog tolerates that sort of thing). A good choice near the West end of Ottawa!Jen O.

55This Sniffspot is spectacular! There are many features for dogs to jump and play on. Although you may see a car drive along the road it is quiet and you can easily tell that the owners and visitors take care and respect the area. We enjoyed it just as much as our grand-puppy did! We would highly recommend 😊Beth S.

55Excellent place! Truly 1.5 fenced acres!
Toys are provided & there’s a variety of terrain to explore - low & high ground areas. 💩 bags & bin by the gate, stick library, table & chairs.
My dog absolutely loved it!
I felt welcome there. Loved its proximity to the house. You’re in the country but not isolated; it seems safe. There are some trees, but it’s largely open, which is better with a small dogMargaret Mary C.

55Fantastic place for my dogs to stretch their legs. It’s well worth the drive from Kanata. So large, and so many places for them to sniff and explore. One dog is a 3 legged rescue and the other is blind and yet the peppery is so well laid out there were no issues. You won’t find a better place for your dog(s). Dean C.

55Such a wonderful spot! The yard is secure, clean, spacious and the owner has gone out of her way to add so many extras for both the doggos and the humans to make it a great experience - toys, agility equipment, seating etc. I only wish I lived closer, we’d be there daily 😃Michelle C.

FAQ about our Carleton Place dog parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 94% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Carleton Place area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 66 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our 5 off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can also filter locations to avoid other domestic animals and people. We also recommend reading reviews and reaching out to the host with any questions.
