Bayside-Joinville Dog Park

Alcohol is prohibited unless a City alcohol permit has been issued. Permits which have alcohol included must end at 6:00pm. Permit holder must be at least 21 years of age in order to obtain an alcohol permit for any drop-in area or picnic site. Alcohol is not permitted at Laurelwood Park, Parkside Aquatic Park, Ryder Park, Shoreview Park, and Harborview Park Glass bottles are not permitted at any City park. The use of sound amplification equipment is prohibited. Radios, boom boxes, wireless speakers, DJ setups, instruments, microphones, and megaphones are not permitted. Smoking is prohibited in city facilities and on city property including parks, parking lots, and grounds surrounding city facilities, including streets and sidewalks. Vehicles are not permitted inside any city park at any time unless previous permission has been granted. Any unauthorized vehicles in the park or picnic area will be subject to a citation and towing at the owner’s expense. All picnic supplies must be transported on foot into park and picnic area. No personal barbecues are to be brought into any park. Barbecuing is restricted to the barbecue pits provided by the City at each picnic site. Caterers and food vendors are not permitted unless previous permission has been granted. Inflatable jump houses may only be used with prior approval in conjunction with a valid picnic permit. Jump houses must be placed in designated areas within the park, and must not exceed 15x15 with no slides or balls. A generator must be provided by the jumper rental company. Jumpers are not permitted at Laurelwood Park and Parkside Aquatic Park. No electricity provided by the City at any picnic site. Please leave picnic area clean with all trash placed in the trash cans provided. It is advised to bring additional trash bags to compensate for excess trash. Dogs are allowed at all City parks, but must remain on a tethered leash and in control at all times. Dogs are only allowed off-leash in the designated dog play areas at Seal Point Park, Joinville Park, Los Prados Park, and Laurie Meadows Park. With the exception of dogs on leashes, no domesticated animals (petting zoos) will be permitted in any Park Property of Facility. Model airplanes, drones, motorized scooters, and/or any other motor driven vehicles are prohibited. All remote controlled pieces of equipment are prohibited in our parks. Individuals may utilize turf areas in parks provided the area is not already permitted for an athletic event. If someone with a valid permit asks you to vacate an athletic field, please do so immediately. Turf areas are not to be utilized by outside vendors unless permission and/or permits have been granted. Any change, alteration, or modification of stated use must be approved in advance by the reservations office. Change or omission, may result in cancellation of use or change of the use area and/or fees. Any misrepresentation of use, or failure to comply with Use Guidelines, may result in expulsion from the park or facility of use and/or forfeiture of all fee(s) and deposit(s). This place isn’t just a Sniffspot, it’s a whole experience! Starting with a beautiful ranch where you can see cows, horses, goats and chickens, (if your dog is reactive to these, then the host will accommodate you drive past and start your visit at the trailhead) to the well marked and maintained hiking trails to the top of a hill with a fantastic view across the Bay! It was wonderful to get a rewarding and beautiful off-leash hike in without having to worry. Excellent spot with an excellent host.

Great property with absolutely amazing views of the bay at the top. The host was very friendly, communicative, and helpful. Used the trail and the fenced off space, it was great! My lab had a great time sniffing around and running! The view at the top is so nice as well. Brianna was super friendly and communicative - we booked fairly last minute and she had the fenced paddock ready to go and let us know right away that the trail was closed due to a fallen tree. The paddock is multi-use for farm animals which means lots of great smells for our pup (poop from various species, straw that cows have taken naps in, etc) and the entire area is very securely fenced. Our large great dane had a blast, and the fencing would be secure for dogs of all sizes (only issue would be a determined climber). We could see some of the farm animals from a distance, but none of them shared a fence with us/caused any issues with our dog (who can be reactive at times). Fenced area was mostly flat, covered in green grass, and had no major tripping hazards (rocks, ditches) so we were able to run around as much as we wanted.

Great spot! Brianna is cool and friendly, and the trail has great views at the top. The place was very quiet, and we only saw one hiker on the opposite side of the fence (not on Brianna’s property) during the two hours we were there. If you’re going on the trail, wear long socks and check your dog for ticks afterwards (as you would on any hiking trail probably)

Wonderful host! Beautiful trail! My dogs and I walked along the trail and since it’s been raining a little recently, everything was SO green! It’s beautiful! I’d recommend bringing boots for the trail since it’s been raining recently so it’s a little muddy. My dogs truly enjoyed it, so many things to sniff and opportunities to run freely! What a great spot! Brianna met us when we arrived and got us squared away in the fenced pasture. It was perfect for my dogs' needs. They had a blast running around like maniacs and smelling all the things. My littlest pup (5lbs toy breed) is a houdini and managed to escape in thru the smallest imaginable gap! So if you have a pup that's under 10-15lbs and likes to escape be sure to keep a close eye out!

This is my first time using Sniffspot and I love that this was the first location I got to experience with my two dogs. The land is beautiful and feels pretty remote. It’s not a flat hike so I definitely recommend good shoes and keeping your dog on a leash if they don’t have good recall as when mine would run ahead of me I would lose site of them for a moment. But they are well trained so I knew I didn’t have to worry. If you don’t stay on the main trail and go into the brush or the smaller trails, you will get ticks so either make sure you are covered from head to toe and also that your dogs are sprayed with flea & tick repellent or that they are on a flea and tick preventative. I found a few before we even left the park but I just flicked them off and did a thorough brushing on both to ensure there weren’t any lurkers I couldn’t see. The weather was beautiful and my dogs were pretty tired when we got home but they didn’t seem to want to leave before our time was up so it lived up to all the hype I gave them. 😂
