The surface is a packed sandy soil during the cold weather months and mowed natural vegetation during the warmer months. A walk around the interior fence line is about 1/4 mile so it's great for the active dog owner too. It's a close-in rural location right in Aurora just two miles east of I-225 from the Sixth Ave exit. While my field area is strictly for the dogs, there is a horse in a corral area next to the dog field. My neighbor has loose chickens on his property. Neither the horse nor the chickens are bothered by dogs. Dogs may bark out of curiosity and that's totally appropriate and ok, but they soon realize that with no reaction there is no need to bark. Sniffin' Hours are: 8:30 am -5:00 pm every day of the week. You may reserve time up to 14 days in advance.

What a great spot. Instructions were very clear in terms of location, how to open gate, etc.. Really liked the feature of driving in and letting my dog out. Amazing large open space and my dog did a whole bunch of zoomies and went deep for balls to her heart's content. Spot is right next to a road and a car or two would pass by regularly. This didnt matter with my dog but I had assumed the spot was more tucked away. Just FYI. Really appreciated the cleanliness, complimentary water, snacks, toys, etc.. I'm thankful such a large space is in the Denver metro area. We'll be back.

Excellent park to use for throwing the long ball and frisbee! Our dog slept for hours after getting her energy out. Parking is ample and the park is clean with a nice bench to relax on while your dog(s) walk around to investigate the park. I highly recommend this dog park.

My 2 dogs thoroughly enjoyed their visit. It is a large space with shade under the trees and lots of interesting smells. They had never seen a horse before so that attracted them but the horse ignored them and they soon lost interest. They were fascinated by the chickens on the other side of the fence. I brought my two dogs and my six-year-old and we had a blast. I love that you drive into the fenced, so you have anything you need the entire time and never have to worry about your dogs or kids getting in or out. The sniffspot was HUGE and my dog had a great time!! The instructions for entry were easy to follow, the area was secure with plenty of water and there were toys to use if you didn't bring your own. Views of the snow capped mountains were beautiful. I don't know how it is in the summer but the yard was mostly dirt. It was dry the day I was there but I can see how it could be very muddy if it had just rained or if there is snow. I heard a dog bark and saw a neighbor in their backyard but it is pretty far away at the back of the yard. We will definitely be back!

Are dog fields safe?

If you are looking for an adventure, but also looking for safety, Sniffspot dog fields are a great option. While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, distracted dog owners, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks are much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private space for just you and doggy friends you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). Especially for training, privacy is ideal.
