You may hear a dog bark in the distance depending on air quality, but it will be faint. You can take an easy hike along the field edge, or let your pet have the full experience of sniffing out coons, opossums, squirrels and many other things in the woods. The woods trail is steep and sloped for a portion of the way, and eventually joins the field edge trail. Neither trail is cleared of snow, but the woods trail mostly doesn't have a deep snow layer. Both trails give you access to the creek. Round trip to the back of the farm and back is 30-40 minutes at a good hike. In the summer, a beautiful rest camp is set up at the back for you to detox and enjoy the silence while your dog is in the water. A hose and/or small pool is provided at the front for your dog's rinse.

A table and chairs with shade for humans to enjoy while their dog(s) socialize or burn off some steam. Gates are located on either side of the house, fully fenced (some gaps may be too big for tiny dogs), there is also a hose for washing dogs or filling water bowls.

We have a fire pit with seating in one of the grass acres. There are no longer Alpacas and goats here as they’ve moved to the farm down the road. But you will come across Canadian Geese and Wild Turkeys, and sometimes Deer. As you drive by the red barn to the parking area you will sometimes see our dog friendly dog Butch in his gated area most likely sleeping! 😄 Once you reach your parking it is private and you are alone.

Slatmill for dogs included for rental use (please bring your own harness if you plan on using it). However, the fencing is a mix of 50% horse board-style fencing with 50% cattle panel type fencing along the roads at the front and along both sides of the property. Horse farms are on either side of the property and the horses to the south will come up to the fence and are very curious. The back of the property is open forest with board fencing as well. Lots of room for you and your dog(s) to run and play. Approximately 20 acres of open fields. No muddy areas and fields are well drained and dry. As an added bonus… The property goes all the way back to the tree line and the hill… They didn’t have an amenity for a toboggan hill, but if you’re bringing kids or feel like a kid, that’s available of course. 😇😇

A good size small/medium dogs, or large dogs who don’t need the space to sprint, our fully fenced yard is full of mature trees, garden features, and nooks and crannies for your fur baby to explore. Our home is on a corner lot, so one half is fully fenced and one half isn’t fenced - you’re welcome to use either/both areas at your discretion. There’s a nice mix of shady and sunny spots. We have a water hose you’re welcome to, and if you’d like we can set up a kiddy pool (just let us know in advance). There are also some dog toys and poo bags for your use. The humans are welcome to make use of the deck, chairs, table, swings, or campfire pit. We have a 13yo very gentle German Shorthaired Pointer and a 3yo 20lb Cockapoo full of energy. You’ll have the yard to yourselves, but if you’d like for the dogs to play together let us know and we can have a play date (assuming it’s safe for everyone - our dogs aren’t territorial about their yard and have been happy to share with visitors). So grab a coffee, a good book, and enjoy the yard while your furry companion explores!
