55Laura’s property was great for our two boys. They loved running through the fields, exploring, and swimming in the pond.
As a brand new Sniffspot, they are still working on getting signage up, that said Laura provided good instructions and we were able to find the spot.
Make sure to bring your rain boots and expect the dogs to need a good bath afterwards, that said it’s worth it for how much fun they had! Katrina G.

55This was a great spot for us! Definitely read the owners description of the property and her bio before you book here so you understand what this place is. The property is a pasture for livestock that isn't being used in the winter months. Definitely wear rainboots and expect the dogs to get dirty. But all of the above is not an issue for us at all. Our dogs LOVED running here and the amount of fully fenced space was amazing. We have 2 Malamutes and they had a blast here. Thank you! Brittany X.

55This was a tough spot for me personally. Host accurately provided information that this is grazing area and often wet so I expected the poop as well as the soggy nature in parts. I did not expect the scattered skeletal remains or the nearby veal crates. As a farm animal lover, this was extremely unpleasant for me so we cut our visit short. I’m only listing this in case others have similar sensitivities. However, I did leave five stars because the spot is well marked, well fenced, large and spacious. For those who are comfortable with dairy spaces, this is a fantastic romp for your pup. Stephanie P.

55This spot was great! Laura sent clear directions on how to get into the spot in a private message a couple hours before the visit. The gravel road is long, you’ll pass many gates so it might seem confusing as to where to enter, but then you’ll pass a small sniff spot sign before getting to a double green gate that says “sniff spot enter here.” We had no problem with parking on the side of the wide road, no spots that we found to be too muddy, although I do drive a truck. The spot itself does have some bones as mentioned in the listing. Secure fencing. Bring your own water and bowl for the pups. The two gates within the spot that can be opened or closed for desired acreage - one was open when we arrived and added another 2-3 acres from the entry spot. The second gate was not as clear to us, but we saw it off to the left from the first entry and was a much larger space than the first 2 areas (the additional ~8-10 acres). My last picture uploaded is of the second gate that we didn’t notice until a bit later. There are lots of gates so that part was a bit confusing and could probably benefit for a sign on the gates we are allowed to manipulate to differentiate the ones to be left alone. Totally great spot! Heard some dogs barking in the far distance, otherwise did not see anyone or any dogs during our visit. Thanks!Riley C.

55I took my two dogs and had a blast, I found that the signage and directions were clear and made our trip easy. We didn’t stumble upon too many bones and the ones we did see caused no issues. Rain boots are a must but there are plenty of dryer areas. The different pastures provided plenty of new areas for the dogs to smell and they had plenty of room to play fetch.I highly recommend!Izabelle W.

55Fantastic! My dogs loved racing around the pastures, tromping through puddles, sniffing for critters in the taller grass, pretending like they were their Scottish ancestors. I might have also enjoyed stomping through the mud and puddles like a kid in my rain boots, but I won't say. It's a farm, so there's poop and bones and uneven ground - the best kind of place to let a dog be a dog. There were guns (or similar) going off periodically, so take that into account if that's an issue. Tonya K.

55This spot is AMAZING! My dogs had so much fun following all the scent trails, checking out the LGD's leftovers, running up and down the pastures through mud (and yes, cow poop!), and generally had a total blast. No, this isn't a pristine park like yard but that makes it even more fun and interesting for the dogs! Definitely already one of my top favorites worth the almost hour long drive, and we will be back!
The entrance was easy to find with SniffSpot signage, parking was not a problem directly off the gravel road, and the fencing is quite secure. Happy humans, happy Cattle Dogs. Sarah S.

We had no issues finding the spot; GPS took us directly there and we saw the clearly labeled Sniffspot signs.
Throw some bodysuits on your dogs if you’re trying to keep them clean, and let them go wild! Can’t wait to visit again :) Summer M.

55Pasture experience was fantastic - everything was frozen so mud wasn't an issue, lots of things to sniff and plenty of room to run. Like other posters mentioned, gunshots were frequent and there was a person with their dog walking with gravel road when leaving (we were already in the car, but our reactive dog freaked out anyway). Overall though I'd go back!Rachel B.

55The field was wonderful for our dogs with so much space to run free!
Everything was frozen over, but not slippery at all with good shoes and with the grass poking through the ice. Our pups actually had a blast learning how to run across the frozen over water and chase after treats and ice pieces we would slide out for them; great confidence building!
Some stray bones, I'm assuming from wildlife having eaten something in the field, but they were old and our dogs didn't bother with them at all!
Our Google maps took us directly to the entrance gate and it was clearly marked with a clearing to the side for parking. Securely fenced, even for our little dog, though there was maybe a spot or two she could have squeezed through if she really wanted, but we had 0 issues.
We will be booking again in the future!S B.

FAQ about our Mount Vernon fully fenced dog parks
Are fully fenced dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks are much safer than public dog parks. Human and animal safety is our #1 focus. Without a private option, many dog owners are relegated to using athletic fields or tennis courts for their dogs, which are not private or safe. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 93% of reviews on Sniffspot visits are 5 stars. And with fully fenced Sniffspot parks, you can get the safety of a fenced-in space for dogs, while still having plenty of space to run.
