**Welcome to our Country Retreat – A Dog’s Paradise!** Looking for the perfect off-leash adventure for your furry friend? Our country property offers a serene and spacious environment for your dog to explore, play, and relax. While the area is not fenced, there’s plenty of room to roam with open fields, tree-lined paths, and a charming creek. A trail meanders through the field, leading all the way back to the next concession, providing ample space for sniffing and exploring. Pet owners can unwind at one of our shaded furniture spots or take a peaceful stroll through our garden. Depending on the season, you’re welcome to pick some veggies or flowers to take home. We’ve also provided a convenient water tap at the end of the pool house for your pup’s hydration needs. Please note that while the pool is a beautiful feature of the property, we kindly ask that no pets or people enter the swimming pool. For your peace of mind, I’m often home working on various outdoor projects. If you’d prefer a bit more privacy, just let me know in advance, and I’ll be happy to accommodate your request. Lastly, you might meet our friendly outdoor cat, Kenny Rodgers, during your visit. He’s quite the character but will happily give your dogs space if they’re not feline-friendly. With plenty of room to run, explore, and play, this spot is ideal for dogs who need a bit of space to stretch their legs. The area is mostly grassy, with a few shady spots and gentle hills, providing a calm environment away from busy streets. Fresh water and shaded seating are available for both you and your dog to relax and enjoy your time here. Whether your dog wants to run around or simply explore at their own pace, Golden Root Acres is a great place to let them be themselves in a safe, quiet setting. Please park anywhere in the driveway and enjoy your visit!

IMPORTANT: all prices listed are in USD and guests will be charged in USD. This is a field and bush area with a stream and pond that dogs are going to love exploring. No neighbours to hassle you while making all the noise you want. Grass may be tall or short when you arrive. Trails cut around the perimeter and through the forest to get to the pond. Guests are able to explore the whole property, but please stay to the forest and field areas. We realize sometimes dogs get excited and will venture out of those areas, so dont sweat it. As long as they are having fun, just call them back and continue on your way. We do suggest bringing some bug spray/mosquito repellent.

Our backyard is nice and sunny with a lot of room to run and play! There is plenty of seating for lounging and to get some shade. Feel free to park in the driveway and use the fence to the right to come right in. I have doggie waste bags and hand sanitizer on the table along with free treats for the dogs and snacks for the owners! Also, there are balls for playing fetch. Feel free to pick some apples 🍎 from the apple tree! Have fun!

Please note that all prices listed are in USD no matter what country the host is in. Because it’s an American based company, all guests will be charged in USD. The property is very long and narrow, with a small hill at the very back. It’s a great spot for playing fetch, or if your pooch has the zoomies. My neighbour has trees along the North side of the fence, creating a lot of shade for your furbabies. Theres a picnic table available for you to use, and also a small bistro set off to the side by the gate that you’re welcomed to sit at too. Help yourself to the dog toys that are available in the purple bin, as well as the pile of sticks for fetch. I’ve recently added a tennis ball pool (you could also toss kibble in there), and some agility equipment - an all seasons commercial fibreglass tunnel, and a big wooden spool with a wooden bench to walk along. Feel free to bring some kibble to toss in the new pool noodle pool! It’s a great enrichment activity for dog(s)- trying to search for the kibble through the pool noodle pieces. There’s also drinking water for your dog(s), and a small garbage bin provided for any waste. We have Silkie chickens that stay in their fenced in area on the South side of the property. If you feel the chickens would be too distracting for your dog(s), please let me know and I can try and get them into the coop during your stay. Free wifi available ~ the password will be given when you book your visit. My goal is to have my setup better and better each time you come, so I welcome your feedback and suggestions! Also there is a tap near the gate that you can fill your dogs bowl incase your dog/dogs get thirsty. We have provided a tote full of toys and balls that your dog/dogs can play with. Plus the backyard has lots of different things that will be exciting for your dog/dogs to experience. There is an extra that you can select when booking your time slot called treats and if you select that extra then we will hide treats for your arrival! Lots of street parking near our house and the bag hanging on our tree is for any poop bags you may have. If you have any questions please let us know!

Quarter mile trail with partially mulched path, walk along the creek and let your dog explore the sights and sounds of nature.

Please do NOT walk in the back forest. The property is 50 acres, however we wish to keep the sniffspot to the 2 acres around the house as to not disturb the wildlife. You can run around with your dog, play fetch/frisbee or just let your dog sniff roll and play. It’s the ultimate getaway for your dog to switch up your routine. Very private, peaceful and a perfect spot to unwind. Please note Sniff Spot is a U.S. based app so the price you see is USD and you will see the conversion to Canadian dollars on your credit card statement. Groups /special events over 5 dogs will require a 1.5 hr booking. Please note we open up our booking schedule 1 week in advance. Check back often to see when we are open.
