Welcome to Pooch’s Paradise! I’m Kaitlyn, a professional dog trainer who owns Kaitlyn’s Dog Training. My dogs are basically my children, and the entire yard has been catered to them and my clients’ dogs. This half-acre yard is fully fenced (6 foot privacy, plus a 4-ft chain link surrounding a garden area), and even has a double-gate system to enter and exit, like you would see at a dog park to add extra safety. There are tons of enrichment activities available. I always have a wide variety of toys, a children’s climbing playset, a large ball pit, agility equipment (tunnels, a small A Frame, a teeter totter, a small tire jump, weave poles, and a panel jump). ** I also have kiddie pools and/or a treat scavenger hunt I can add if you give advance notice and select it as an add-on option.** There’s a gazebo that offers shade and is also screened in to prevent most bugs from getting in. There’s a clear tote by the entry gate that contains clean towels and also a Mudbuster tool for cleaning off paws. We do everything we can to provide the absolute best experience for you and your dog, and we think you’ll love it! The only dogs I have ever allowed on the property are vaccinated, healthy, and up-to-date on flea & tick prevention. All the pups who visit my home find that the yard is quite literally their own personal playground, and I know your dogs will love it too!

The owner, defined as any individual 18 years or older who brings a dog to the dog park or has a dog in his or her care, is legally responsible for that dog and any injury or damage caused by the dog. The City of Kalamazoo is not liable for any injury or damage caused by any dog. The use of the dog park is at your own risk. No more than two dogs per owner are permitted in the off-leash areas of the park. All dogs must be at least four months old. Dogs must have a valid Kalamazoo County Dog License and have up-to-date rabies, distemper, and Bordetella vaccinations. Dogs in heat or displaying symptoms of illness are not permitted in the park. Dogs must be spayed or neutered. Dogs must wear a flat buckle collar or harness only with valid Kalamazoo County license and owner identification. Dogs must be within sign and under control of the owner. Dog fighting is not allowed. Owners must immediately remove any dogs exhibiting hostile, biting, or aggressive behavior. Digging is not allowed. The owner is responsible for filling holes made by their dog. Dogs must be on a leash when entering and exiting the off-leash enclosures of the dog park. Owners accompanying dogs in the dog park must be 18 years of age or older. Children under 8 years of age are not allowed in the enclosure. Children ages 8-12 must be under close supervision of an adult present inside the off-leash enclosures of the park. Owners must clean up after their dogs immediately and dispose of waste properly. Smoking, eating food, dog food/treats, rawhides, alcohol, and glass containers are prohibited in the off-leash areas. Please remember to close all gates behind you. Only dogs under 25 pounds may use the small dog area. Choke, prong, pinch, and spike collars must be removed inside the park.

Keep an eye on your dog at all times, and keep your dog’s leash with you. Children must be at least ten years of age to use the park. Children 10 and over must be closely supervised and should not run, chase dogs or pet other member’s dogs unless permission is granted by the owner. Be Polite: SCOOP THE POOP! Bag stations and trash cans are available throughout the park. Dogs must be up-to-date on all required vaccinations (copy to be kept on file). We strongly recommend dogs to be on flea and heartworm preventatives. Male dogs over one year of age must be neutered to enter the park. Digging is not allowed except in the designated area, ‘Doggie Mountain’. No more than three dogs per person. No dogs in heat are allowed in the park. No sick dogs are allowed in the park. For the safety and security of all members and their dogs, under no circumstances should members allow access to the park through the member gate to anyone at any time. Doing so could result in a termination of membership without refund. HAVE FUN!
