It’s a steep hill up with natural woodland ground, lots of ferns, beautiful nature untouched. Old trails exist, we have not cleared them in recent years, feel free to explore them if you would like to just know, they are not maintained and certain times of year there is brush and ferns. We have running water with a hose for your convenience at our pump house. You may occasionally see myself, my husband or my elderly mother by the house, and patio, working on the property and gardens, area around our home. We live above farms that takes care of their fields so you may hear mowing in the distance in the valley we set above. Please do not pick, or disturb the fruit on the trees. Please keep children, and all guests off the fence line, and do not step on the gates or fencing. Shut the gates when coming, and going. Please leash your dog/dogs upon arrival until you become aware of the setting. Your reservation must include the correct number of dogs in your visit that is stated in your reservation time. Correct or update this if need be before you start your visit at Barkley Park. We are happy to share our safe quiet countryside with pups and their people. Our property is located off the Burn Road in Arlington and is 5 acres, 1 of which is fully fenced and there are about 3+ acres of woods that have a trails throughout that we are constantly trying to add onto. Access to the backyard will be through the double gates on the south side of the house. Access to the trails can be either gate along the back fence. We just ask that you close whichever gate you use upon entrance and exit. The trails currently are just shy of 1/4 of mile looping back to the gates of the fenced in backyard. We do have a seasonal pond in the woods that we plan on trying to expand access too (it’s a work in progress). The fence is 3.5 feet high split rail with chain link very secure, the back portion of fencing is strictly chain link same height but acts as a natural looking wild fence. Dogs can play ball, sniff around, and run off lease in the fenced yard. Dogs with good recall can be off leash on the trails and run throughout. We do have neighbors where our woods end that are mostly fenced but some do not have fencing (which is why recall is needed). There is no delineation between the neighbor to the north’s huge pasture area which would be off limits. Please enjoy yourself and let us know if you have any ideas to add to the property. There is a large bedrock that runs along one side of the backyard, which makes for some great exploring. There is a blackberry grove next to my yard which is frequented by various wildlife, so there is always lots to smell back there! Please note there is a significant set of stairs you need to go down to reach the lawn area from the patio. The yard is surrounded by 6ft fences, and there is one section that is steep rock - this could potentially be climbed by a VERY determined pup so please keep that in mind. Very nice spot that is easy to get to and quiet. Fully fenced and didn’t hear people, dogs, or traffic. Would recommend wearing boots or sturdy shoes as it is in the country but no stickers or burrs in the grass!

Such a great location! The space is off the street and not much road noise. There was a small cooler with canned drinks, some dog toys, a water dish, treats, two chairs + table, and a garbage can. We came on an overcast day, but because there's trees around the area to cast shade, it'd be a good spot for a sunny day as well. My newfoundland loved it and so did I. The *only* thing was that there were some deep-ish divots in the area, so be careful when you walk around so you don't twist an ankle. Thanks for such a great spot! Will come again.

We loved our first visit to this spot! Secure fencing for our medium sized pups. Sun, shade, chairs, toys, drinks for humans and pups. Very quiet field. Good for recall training, zooming, & playing! We will absolutely be back. Uneven ground but I walked a mile in total to get steps and it did not feel unsafe at all. My pups are totally zonked from their time!! Thank you!

Well maintained yard, clean and spacious. Equipped with a water dish and a pitcher of water to refill it with, a bucket of toys (including the chuck-it launcher, which was a big hit with my dog), as well as a mini-cooler full of sparkling waters and a jar of dog treats. There were bags for picking up poop, as well as a can right at the entrance to dispose of it in. Beautiful area, quiet and peaceful, the only sounds we heard were a couple of children riding scooters around the block. Dog had a blast running wild and smelling everything and chasing the ball. Definitely recommended if you’re just looking for a big open field to work with your dog on training, or playing. Thank you!

Perfect spot for fetch with my dog. I also brought my two toddlers and they had fun running around. There was just one hole near the entrance we had to be careful of. Everything was clean. I appreciated the water for my dog and Chuck it that was provided.

Great spot! Parking spot is easy to find and the yellow guidance arrows take you right to the gate. Both my pups loved the open field to run in and enjoyed having a chance to dig a bit too! Definitely will come back for more play and training time.
