55Absolutely gorgeous location . Diversity there's wooded trails and grassy areas. Enclosed park for dogs that need enclosure. There's a beautiful pond and paddle boat but not sure if paddle boat is available. I did not really talk to host but a brief text. Location is beautiful. Jennifer R.

The pond is quite large and currently iced over but we look forward to returning in the summer when our girl can play in the water.Michelle B.

55This was my first Sniffspot and it was exactly what I was looking for. I missed the entrance at first, but that's probably a me thing! Entrance looks exactly like posted picture. If you see cows, you've gone too far! This spot is HUGE! There are two large field areas to run your dog(s). We just needed a space to play fetch and run, and this was absolutley perfect for us. As a conscientious dog owner, I always have water for my dog, waste bags for picking up and always prepared to throw out the waste, so not having those things was not an issue for me. Come prepared to care for your dog. As a city dwelling, working dog owner, I'm so grateful for the use of this spot. Will be back for as long as they'll have us! Impossible to do it justice with pictures, but give you some idea. There is a pond, not sure if suppose to utilize. There is some old farm equipment, but impossible to NOT avoid it. As far as small dog friendly, I'd say it depends on the owner.Odette J.

55Second visit today, in the rain, but as long as there's a ball, my dog doesn't care! Makes me happy I can bring him to this spot. I don't have to feel guilty letting him off leash, he can RUUUUUN and I don't have to be on the alert for other dogs. Relaxing for us both. Got some new pics. 1. entrance - no gate and right off the road, although there is barely any vehicle activity, be aware if your dog is a bolter. 2. behind the farm equipment - you can see how much field is in front of equipment, that it's easy to stay away from. Just maybe don't throw the ball in that direction (like I did, ooops). 3. from middle of SECOND field - there's a tiny spec in the distance of this picture.....it's my car! This field is completely open, sooo far from the road and no equipment.
Next week, (we're definitely going back again) I'll show you over the hill where the cows are.......or you could go see for yourself ;)Odette J.

55Back again! More photos too. These are "over the hill", towards the farm (sniff spot is the back end of farm, away from it all). TBH I'm not sure if this is part of the sniff spot, but I explored a bit to describe......there's an unmaintained path......so wear trekking footwear. Just over the hill the fencing is removed, but the picture with the wooden fence corner has fencing and I believe it's electric. I didn't go further cause I don't know how my dog would react to cows. The wooded side of path is fenced with I believe barbed wire fencing. The "woods" can be accessed from other side in the second field, if that's your thing. Today there was a goose couple wandering the second field by the water, so we stayed away.....don't need my dog chasing geese. The cow side of the hill is harder to traverse, more of a grazing area. Fun to explore, but not for fetching. This spot is hayfields for a working farm, so not sure what that'll mean going forward, but the host is very responsive and I'm sure she'll let us know.Odette J.

55As mentioned before, this is a hayfield for the farm, so the grass is getting long and will be longer. Not an issue for us, my dog loves running through it, and searching is good mental stimulation for dogs. Although, humans should keep an eye on where the ball goes.......don't be like me spending 15 minutes looking for ours. Still, it's good stimulation and bonding.
The host mowed a path around the perimeter of the first field and that's how it will be maintained during hay season, (ie. the summer). This field is a lot bigger than I realized. We never ventured down this part of the spot.
I would wear supportive footwear to walk path, it's still a field. I wore rubber boots and was fine. Sandals or your favorite kicks, will not bode well. Some more pictures......Odette J.

55My dog LOVES this spot! While he's high energy and I often call him crazy, I'm the one who takes him, in the rain to a hayfield during growing season! LOL.
Didn't anticipate rain when I booked, but rain doesn't bother us, and my dog needs to release energy no matter the weather. For this field, I wear rubber boots whether or not it's raining. Due to life, we haven't been here in a while. The host did notify me that the perimeter hadn't been trimmed, so I knew what I was getting into. The height of the grass in the interior of the field is above my knees (I'm 5'6") and the perimeter is still "defined" by tractor tracks with about foot high grass.
We were still able to run and play fetch and my dog loves to romp in the tall grass. Plus, a great place to practice tracking.Odette J.

55Doggo loved our visit as usual. Loses his mind when we pull in! Romping in the long grass days are numbered though, as the field is being cut today.
Anyone looking for a HUGE area to run your dog, the next month will be your time, as the grass grows again for the next hay cycle.Odette J.

55Field is cut down and soooo much space to run/fetch. Be aware the old farm equipment is hidden by grass (see pics) so wouldn't recommend any sniffing in that spot. If there are hazards, they are hidden. Also quite a few hay bales scattered through out second field and the lower end of the first field. There is so much open space in front of your car, you can easily avoid and won't miss the other areas. Pup had a blast as always.Odette J.

55Marsha‘s property is beautiful. It is the perfect place if you have a ball mad dog! Just be aware that there was livestock on the neighbouring farm that was touching the trails. My golden retriever and the cows were a little too curious of each other so we leashed her until the cows were out of sight. My springer spaniel could have stayed all day using the open field and her chuckit stick. We will be back again for more ball throws. Sheena B.

55Marsha is a very gracious host. She came out to meet me when we arrived and gave me a lovely map of the property. She also came out as we left with a big bowl of water for the dogs. Thank you so much Marsha for letting us enjoy your beautiful property!
Just a note that the livestock nextdoor to her property are very curious about the dogs and vice versa! Good idea to keep dogs leashed as you go by the cows! 🙄😃🐾🐾🐄🐮Lesley V.

55This was our 2nd visit to Marsha’s! Her property is perfect if you have a Chuck it crazy dog! We avoided the trails today and threw the ball in the back field for the whole hour. We probably threw the ball 150+ times. My springer spaniel was in heaven! My senior golden retriever also enjoyed leisurely strolling the field. Her property is perfect for our situation!

FAQ about our Freelton dog parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 95% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Freelton area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 218 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our 37 off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can also filter locations to avoid other domestic animals and people. We also recommend reading reviews and reaching out to the host with any questions.
