Our 11 acre farm is 1/3 mile down an easement off of a quiet road. We have about 2 acres fenced in as a yard for the pups, and also to keep the cows in their pastures. Entrance to the yard is through a gate next to the driveway near the garage. Appointments only please so that we confirm and can put our friendly pups away - unless you would like playtime, and we are sure the dogs get along. We ask that only fully vaccinated and healthy dogs (not recovering or suffering from a transmittable illness) visit our property, as it’s our home.

My husband and I have a little peace of heaven here in the Shenandoah Valley! Our goal is to provide a space for all dogs to play, run and sniff away! Having volunteered, fostered, adopted and worked at various animal rescue non-profits over the years, I realized that many cats and dogs don’t get much time outside of the kennels. I also came to understand that many rescue animals develop trauma related behaviors and cannot integrate with other dogs. Additionally, having this time of off leash freedom is a significant bonding experience for pups and their parents! Having the extra space to provide a private dog park and the passion to help all dogs thrive, our private dog park was a no brainer! *As of 1/25/25, the backyard is about half grass, half covered with snow. Furniture in the seating area on the lower deck is completely cleared off and available for your use, as well as the fire pit! We should have this weekend also.* We have somewhere between a third to a half acre in our backyard, fully enclosed with a 5 to 7-ft wood fence. We have shady spots, but there also aren't too many trees, so there is plenty of room to play fetch and run around. Amenities include two different size jumps, a balance beam, a slide, a spring-loaded tug rope attached to a tree, a small dog tunnel, furniture on the lower deck for you to sit down, a hammock, and a trampoline. With the slide, not every dog can manage to get up it, so please just use your judgment and be safe 😁.

We are open to visitors using our 12 acres of open field space, 3 acre pond, almost a half mile of stream, and 3 acres of woods. Trails move you around the pond and up into the woods. There is a lot to do here and a plethora of activities for dogs and humans ranging from open field play and running, hiking, and water activities. Please follow the signs and do not disturb the owners at house. Beach area of pond has seating areas, hammock, and fire pit. There is also a seating area and rope swing. Visitors are not permitted to fish in pond. The Ridge Trail is a bit more difficult for older dogs and humans and/or people not in the best shape to hike. Proceed with caution. CERTAINLY, please take the map provided at the entry table.

Arrival Notes: • Parking: Please park in front of the garbage cans located by the garage. • Dog Etiquette: Kindly keep your dogs leashed and off the front lawn. They can relieve themselves in the designated circle or elsewhere if necessary, but please minimize their presence on the front lawn. • Dog Waste: Dispose of all bagged dog waste in the trash can with the black lid in front of the garage before leaving. • Entrance and Exit: Access the field from either the path behind the garage or the gravel path on the right hand side of the driveway. The side yard next to the garage is off-limits. • Supplies: Dog bags are available in the boxes attached to the fence. There is a water bowl next to the hose bib for your convenience. Additionally, a picnic table, chairs, bug spray, and hand sanitizer are provided for your use. • Further Exploration: At the bottom of the stairs, another single gate with more dog bags provides access to the field, creek, and wooded walk. Please leash your dogs beyond this point unless they have excellent recall. Wildlife such as deer, foxes, raccoons, rabbits, hawks, and even beavers may be encountered. • Paths: To the left, a path leads through the woods, up the hill, and around the garage. On the right-hand side of the field, a gravel path leads back up to the driveway. You are welcome to explore the property with your dog(s). Description: • Property Overview: The property spans five acres and includes half an acre of fully fenced lawn, wooded paths, and an open field bordered by Popes Head Creek. Dogs enjoy running and playing off-leash in the fenced lawn area, and there are designated spots like a fire hydrant in the pea gravel area and a sandbox for their use. The creek offers a refreshing spot for dogs to explore and cool off. The property also provides numerous picturesque opportunities in all seasons. Dog Toys: • You are welcome to use the toys I just ask that you return them before you leave. Dog Limitations: • Limit: We allow up to 4 dogs per reservation. If you wish to bring more or arrange a play date, please contact us to discuss it. Vehicle Limitations: • Vehicles: Each reservation allows a maximum of 2 vehicles. If you plan to bring a third vehicle, please add "Extra - Extra Vehicle" to your reservation and inform us to ensure adequate space. Complete freedom to roam on 30 acres with a bonus that our land is surrounded by another 200+ acres of electric company owned land with no roads, no cars, no neighbors… just grass and forest. We have a Google Earth picture roughly showing the property lines and the driveway for you to use while exploring. We ask that you please stay out of the treeline to the right of the driveway as you drive up the hill It's the neighbor's property and it's marked by no trespassing signs. There is no house on the property. Just a camper and a shed. Park anywhere on the road or at the big circle at the top (near the farm office.) We have wifi near the brown shed at the top of the road. Your dogs will be tired after this trip, we promise. As of April 1st there are no animals or livestock on site except for a few bee hives on the property. Most often, the owner is not on site but may do some maintenance time to time. If you see him, he will wave hello… Rest assured he will not approach your dogs unless you approach him. We understand reactive dogs.

Come for our glorious sunrises on the creek and sunsets in the fields or just to enjoy the day exploring the fields and creek. The dog area starts past the broken black fence behind the house and goes down through the fields and into the woods. I would appreciate it if you would kindly please keep the dogs leashes and wait until you are past the broken fence to allow your dog to do any business. If your dog is under control or if the horses are not out, you can let them loose right after the broken fence. If you think your dog might be nutty with the horses, please take appropriate measures. To get to the creek, go past the broken fence and keep going down the hill to the back tree line. I have included a map in the pictures. And then just keep walking; it’s about five minutes from the house to the trailhead. We have set out fluorescent yellow markers on the trees on the back tree line as you approach the trail. We also put up a blue sign that says “To The Creek” at the trail head. Once in the woods, walk down the steep hill and take the trail to the right at the bottom of the hill, before the little ravine. That trail will take you out to a spot where your dog can splash around and I’ve cut a few trails to explore back there. If you go to the red barn, you’ve gone too far. The trail is right at the base of the hill. We are looking forward to having you and please reach out if you need anything special or want to chat before coming.

Our yard has sunny areas, as well as plenty of trees providing natural shade and much needed coolness during those hot humid summer days.  A natural wooded yard that borders a county park on one side, with a 7ft wooden privacy fence all the way around the property, the front and neighbor side sections are double sided, so a perfect solution for reactive pups and a side entry gate.  Completely pesticide/herbicide/fertilizer free yard!  Our ground cover is soft playground wood chips, soft for all pup paws, specifically designed to be comfortable for all kinds of furbabies!  The playground chips are a natural tick repellent. We are open during rainy weather too for those of you with rain loving pups!  The overhangs, patio umbrella and tree coverage keep paw parents dry too!  Added bonuses, the chips dry quickly, there's no mud or slippery grass.  You can also enjoy a deck with a patio table, cushioned chairs, lawn chair seating and a hammock!  We also provide poop bags, doggie wipes and towels, extra dog water bowls, kiddie pools and outdoor spigot with hose for water bowl refills or hose play in the warmer months, elevated feeders for the pups who cannot bend down very well to drink and a few refreshments for humans too! Endless amounts of smells and sniffing opportunities from all the local wildlife that frequent our yard.  Good space for running, playing chase, frisbee, tennis ball, chuck it, for the energetic pups, and plenty of space for meandering, or just lounging around under the shade or in sun spots for the more mature pups!  The public park next to us has several wooded trails, so if your pup has any energy left, it is a nice park to walk. **Our priority is opening up our space for your furbabies to enjoy to their heart's content.
