We had a wonderful time at Sammy’s Safe Spot! Our dog had so much fun exploring and running around at this SniffSpot. It was a rainy day and it was so nice to have the covered area to keep our belongings dry and take breaks. Although our dog isn’t ready for agility yet, it was fun to check out the course and play in the space. Looking forward to hopefully visiting again in the future!

55Sammy's Safe Spot is amazing! One of our new favorite SniffSpots. It's clear that a lot of time, detail, and money went into making this space and it's greatly appreciated! Do I wish it was slightly less per hour so I could take my australian shepherd more often? Yes. Do I think it's a fair and reasonable price for the amenities? Also yes! Im a single mom of 2 kids and we adopted a 4 yr old australian shepherd last year after moving into a rental house with yard. The yard is a bit small, and I didn't realize how much training she still needed and about a past trauma leading to reactivity and lack of socialization. Unfortunately this means it's nearly impossible to get her energy out properly! She's too reactive for dog parks still (but we're slowly working on it!) and she has limited recall (with minimal to no distractions) which were also working on. This means I can't let her off leash unless an area is fenced fully, but it also needs to be at least partially private and separated enough to ensure safety for her and other dogs. I can't run fast enough or long enough to get her energy out, walking isn't enough, and the bicycle is was borrowing isn't accessible anymore (this was the closest fit we had to getting her energy out daily). I truly appreciate SniffSpots like this that are completely secured, even better when they have basic amenities like Sammy's does! I loved all the attention to detail like a watering spout (off during winter), treats, seats, wifi, a 'fetch' run, multiple agility stations, a poop bag and trash station, as well as a rinsing station by the parking spot. My australian shepherd is now about to be 5 and we've worked a lot on reactivity, stay, sit, 'come' recall, not jumping, etc. But today was the first time we got to do agility work! She was unsure at first but did do the teeter totter and dog walk several times. I would normally never have access to training and exercise equipment like this being a single mom on unemployment now - so I can't thank you enough for sharing your space!Alix B.

This place just never disappoints. I have one dog that just wants to fetch all day long, and one dog that loves obstacles and think place had everything they need to both leave tuckered and happy! And the host Crystal id an absolute gem, so kind and so accommodating! We will ALWAYS be back!

My kids joined me to take our Australian Shepherd Binks back to this spot today. At 9 and 6 they did a great job not climbing on the agility equipment and got to practice commands. Thank you again for a great SniffSpot!

Because I train service dogs I am unable to go to standard dog parks, this has been an absolutely amazing substitution. The park is always well kept and the equipment is sturdy. This has become my dogs’ home away from home.

What a great idea! My pup really enjoyed playing fetch on a cold, dark, and rainy night! We were able to stay dry and still see the chuck-it balls, which is hard normally this time of year. I will definitely be back!

Great idea to have an enclosed covered area! The ground is rocky/sandy. I went during a complete downpour and it’s was mostly dry, a few spots of puddles. Dogs loved it so much though (one sadly rolled in it but she had fun and big smile, so I can’t complain). There’s lights so it’s perfect if you need to let your dog roam and run after dark. There’s also toys for extra fun.

Easy to find and directions were spot on. This was a perfect place to take my new dog out for the first time to get a feel for how she does off leash as the space is fully enclosed. Flower has a great time with lots of fetch and smells all over. We will be back!

Both boys seemed to have a great time. At first it was sniff heaven. Then we played ball. For my large dogs ( 80 lb) the area was reasonable to run in. I wasn’t looking for acreage. Of course my nosework dog got a whiff of something at the door and gave me a little trouble so I tied it with my leash. ( maybe a rope can be there to do that) After that no issues. Clean and easy to find. Thank you.

What a special spot! Directions on parking and finding the spot once on the property were detailed and easy to follow. This was a great spot for a rainy day since it was fully covered. The size of the area was enough for both my dogs to get their zoomies out. It is directly next to the freeway, so there were plenty of noises. That worked out well for us because we were working on desensitization, but might be something to be mindful of if you have a dog that is noise sensitive. There were a few balls and toys as well as access to water and bowls too. Overall I’m so pleased that we found this and I certainly hope to be back!

Wow! This is a great spot with plenty of open space to run and sniff. It’s next to a cemetery so super quiet. There is a big grassy hill that is great for fetch, really gave our pups a good workout. There were no dogs or people around. My pups had a wonderful time!

55Really nice, big yard! We loved it and had lots of fun! Sarah has amazing communication...we messaged her prior to our visit a few of times and she always responded right away. We did not meet her but I did message her when we arrived and left and she responded quickly both of those times as well. We parked on the right side of the driveway by the basketball hoop which turned out to be pretty perfect...ended up being on the same side as the Sniffspot so Cooper was able to hop right out onto the grass. I always keep Cooper on his leash for awhile anytime we go somewhere new, especially unfenced areas. Even though he has pretty good recall, he needs to figure out his boundaries before he can freely explore. So, we did an on-leash walk for a bit, checked out the perimeter then I let him go. The property is sandwiched between a cemetery and a construction site. No idea what's going on with the construction...there was no activity during our visit and I got the feeling the project might be paused (maybe due to all the rain?)....not sure but basically just a bunch of dirt. It was divided by some temporary fencing and, in some spots, blackberries so, unless you have a very motivated escape artist & jumper, this should not be a problem. On the other side, the cemetery is separated by tall, secure fencing so this is also not an issue. However, there is obviously no fencing across the driveway and at the farthest end (opposite the driveway) there is a neighbor's house and next to the house there is a strip of grass that leads to a small road...there is no fencing here either. So, if your dog has decent recall, this is an excellent spot. Initially Cooper just sniffed around, munched on some grass and explored. A couple times he went up close to the house and, out of respect for the owners, I made him come back to the yard but otherwise he quickly figured out where he was allowed to go so we really enjoyed our time. The lawn was mowed and was soft without any sort of hazards whatsoever until at the very bottom where there is a large patch of un-mowed lawn with blackberry vines throughout. Cooper figured it out right away and just stayed off of this area so did not pose any sort of problem for us whatsoever. The neighbor's house (at the bottom of the hill) has a fenced yard. At some point during our visit their dog was outside and barked a couple of times but we never saw him and it was only 2 or 3 barks and never heard from him again. The fence appears completely secure, you can't see anything through it and I was not concerned about it at all. Also, even though the hosts says she has dogs, we never heard even one single bark from the house the entire time. This is an excellent place for training...after our initial exploring and a little Chuckit we spent a lot of time practicing recall, stay and various other little tricks.
