Located in the rolling hills of Caledon, Ontario, our 30-acre Sniffspot is part of our Bed & Breakfast, The Caledon Manor & Country Inn: CaledonManor.com. While we do not accept pets at the bed and breakfast, Sniffspot guests are welcome to make their time in rural Ontario an experience and extend their rural visit! For example, book the fire pit and Muskoka chairs for a bonfire, drinks, and snacks; book some snowshoes for an extended hike; or in the late Winter/early Spring, our Sugar Bush is in full swing, and guests can enjoy a tour of our Maple syrup-making process and lots more. Anything is possible, and we are open to guest suggestions!

When u turn in the drive way follow it to the right and then slight left, you’ll see the house. U can park beside the barn and have an awesome walk, sniff all the things. Bring rain boots or shoes u don’t love lol It can get mucky on the trails at times

***Important: All charges are in USD*** Beautiful 25 acre farm of open hay fields surrounded by fencing on all sides. However, the fencing is a mix of 50% horse board-style fencing with 50% cattle panel type fencing along the roads at the front and along both sides of the property. Horse farms are on either side of the property and the horses to the south will come up to the fence and are very curious. The back of the property is open forest with board fencing as well. Lots of room for you and your dog(s) to run and play. Approximately 20 acres of open fields. No muddy areas and fields are well drained and dry. As an added bonus… The property goes all the way back to the tree line and the hill… They didn’t have an amenity for a toboggan hill, but if you’re bringing kids or feel like a kid, that’s available of course. 😇😇

There are forest trails and trails around our hay fields. **Please note **Our residential areas are off limits, please stick to the trails and blue markers. Please do not enter any of the buildings on our property. When you come up the driveway veer to the right, there is a marked parking spot for you and your pup. Fall, winter and early spring are great months for ball chasers as we have big open fields. Mid spring and summer we have hay growing and ask you and your pups to follow the trails around the hay fields. There are a couple of cows on the neighboring property, this is only for a very small portion on one of the fields.

About 65 acres is walkable and we have trails throughout. We are learning as we go, and hope to provide you and your dogs a fun day. If you have any question feel free to ask. And remember, we love dogs just as much as you do. There are a few important points we'd like you to consider. We like to meet our new guests for the first time. This gives us a chance to get to know you better and also put friendly faces to us, the hosts. We want you to feel welcome and know that we care about your dogs. We have several trails that split out to other trails. There will be signs to help you navigate through them, and some suggestions that will help you keep track of remaining time. In the colder months, running water will not be provided. We will also reserve the right to cancel the appointment if we get heavy snow squalls. Our plan is to keep the trails plowed, but in the event of a snow storm, it may take us a few days to get the trails plowed. In general, we will not be open past dusk, unless you specifically ask us and are aware of the risks of walking in the dark. I always walk my dogs on winter nights. Just carry some sort of flashlight. We currently have an electric gate that can only be opened by us at the gate, and not remotely. When a guest arrives, we will be there to open the gate for you, close it once you're in, and open it again upon your departure. Lastly a note about safety. Safety is important to us, but please note that you are entering nature. Our spot is home to many small animals, including porcupines. If your dogs are into porcupines, I would stay cautious of your pets entering the dense bush and recommend they stick to the trails instead. The probability of spotting a porcupine though is very low. Other animals will simply not bother human visitors and their dog companions. You may spot a deer or two if you're lucky that day. Deer are mostly friendly, but I would suggest keeping your distance if you spot a buck. However, they typically flee when they spot you. In all my years spotting buck, I've never seen one charge at anyone. Still, be safe. Although very rare, you many spot a coyote. Once again, they generally don't bother humans. If you spot one, keep your dogs close. Coyotes don't like confrontations with humans, so your dogs will be safe if by your side.

We have several lux seating areas for you and tennis, basketball and lawn games to keep you and the kids busy. For the dogs we have all sorts of fun activities, natural parkour and agility equipment. There is a pooper scooper. We compost waste so no bags needed. Just scoop and put into the provided bucket. Please do not leave your plastic poop bags here. We have no way to dispense of it. We have a fire pit with seating in one of the grass acres. There are no longer Alpacas and goats here as they’ve moved to the farm down the road. But you will come across Canadian Geese and Wild Turkeys, and sometimes Deer. As you drive by the red barn to the parking area you will sometimes see our dog friendly dog Butch in his gated area most likely sleeping! 😄 Once you reach your parking it is private and you are alone.

On our 26 acre hobby farm, we have a 6 acre partially fenced farm field/dog park. Ride up and park at the white barn, and walk your leashed puppers walk towards the corner of Highway 6 and Concession 4 West. As you walk past our gardens, woodlots, and ponds you will get familiar with our surroundings and other fences as per the map. There is access to the forest and two ponds on the property. The highway is the right direction. Crossing through the tree line, and you have reached the private access to the 6-acre field. Four-foot tall fencing is installed for your security. Enjoy seeing natural landscapes, trees, and privacy. Have fun, play catch, train and let your animal have unleashed freedom! We have uploaded a printable "safety map" for each season, that contains a legend for your use and the status of the park. Note the fire pit is not available during the winter season. *WINTER 2025 UPDATE* 2024 was a wonderful year! It was our first year and because of you we were the top spot in the local area! With 77 reviews, 74 unique/first visitors, 182 happy dogs and a rating of 4.6 out 5! Our Corgi loved walking after your visits because of all the new dog smells. We have reviewed all of your comments and feedback. Here are some additions and projects we will embark in 2025 to improve your experience and the Sniffspot: 1. Fence gap at the Pond: Our neighbor has granted us permission to install a fence segment on their property to close the fence gap at the pond. 2. Entrance signage: We will be adding a main sign at the parking space which include a print out of the Sniffspot map, extra doggy bags, spare water and garbage with a mini roof/shelter. 3. Directional signage: we will me making wooden posts with signs and directions that will be installed throughout the property in the summer. 4. Rough Terrain: A quarter of the field is level and has been worked (sunflower area) but the remainder has not so we have obtained a local farmer to help us. More details below. Once completed, we will update the map and remove these note(s). Please note the following are TEMPORARY changes for 2025. We have rented the field to a young entrepreneurial farmer who will be planting organic soy beans this spring. In return, they will clean and “work” the field. This means cutting and clearing the entire field (except for the ditch line and few tagged trees), removing debris, making holes, filling holes, ploughing and leveling the field. This will eliminate the risk of slip, trips and falls. They have already removed all of the brush piles, and other debris in January 2025 (hence why the park was closed). About half the park has a rough terrain because their equipment will leave ruts, etc. East/Highway side quadrant is the most level. Please review the Winter Safety Map. We have asked the farmer to keep a 10-20 foot perimeter buffer between the fence and neighbours and we will be cutting/maintaining that trail. Once the soy beans are planted in April/May sniff spot walkers will be asked to keep their dogos on the perimeter trail to avoid significant crop damages. Therefore, we will be reducing the price of the park to $5 until harvest (September/October 2025). You will be welcome to continue to the spot and the leased area between the spot and the parking lot. We are excited because with a bit of sacrifice and time, our field will be level a safer place to walk. We will then be able to maintain trails and create a space that will accommodate the Sniffspot and our personal wants. If you have any questions, please let me know. The farm fence consists of professionally installed 2” by 4” squares of wire mesh (commonly used for smaller livestock such as sheep, donkey, cows, etc) and cedar posts. If you look at the photos you can see the locations of the gate on the main photo or on “safety map” (see photos and captions). We have more fencing on other parts of the property outside of our dog park in case your dog does not have good recall. Refer to the safety map (see photos).

These sections invite curiosity, with different textures and scents stimulating their senses as they adventure through the underbrush and climb over obstacles. We also offer open fields where dogs can run freely and stretch their legs. These grassy areas provide plenty of space for playful romps, rolling around, or socializing with other dogs. The open space is perfect for burning off energy in a natural, enjoyable setting. Our property features creeks, streams, and a scenic pond for your pooch to explore. Shallow crossings allow dogs to cool off on warmer days, splash around, and drink from fresh water. Small hills and mounds provide opportunities for climbing, jumping, and muscle strengthening, making the terrain dynamic and challenging while offering panoramic views from elevated points.
