55This was so much fun! There was so much for the dogs to explore and a nice easy hike for us. It is very well maintained but be sure to prepare for you and your dogs to be muddy during this rainy season. And wear shoes with good traction because some places are a bit slick. An hour was the perfect amount of time. I highly recommend checking it out, we will be back!Kim J.

55This was our 3rd time visiting this spot and it just gets better and better. I can’t get over this place! It’s so peaceful and beautiful… and private! My dog never gets to run off leash unless the place is fenced in but I feel safe enough to let her run around here and the reward is major. I’ve never seen her happier! Thanks for sharing such a magical spot with us :) Page W.

55This was an amazing corner of the woods that has perfect walking paths for the humans and lots of space for the dogs to run and sniff. A small warning to the humans though...the property is quite steep lol. They have benches at various places to sit and rest while the dogs run though so it's perfect :)Madison A.

55Had a great time. It was very satisfying to throw the ball downhill a gazillion times. Boys loved the mud and the creek. Fantastic workout hills. Choo got spooked as we were leaving by neighbors shooting but we were leaving anyway so it incentivized the last uphill. Ines D.

55We had a great time here! It’s like having a piece of forest park all to yourself. There were some muddy spots so bring some boots and a towel if you’re visiting during the rainy season. We’ll definitely be back soon!Jen W.

55This spot was PERFECT for my on leash reactive dogs. They got to run to
Their hearts content, sniff anything and everything and chase each other around without me having to worry about running into anyone. It was so nice they were able to just be dogs. The trails were steep but totally manageable! We will be back for sure. Emma B.

55Loved it! Your own private slice of Forest Park. Looking forward to going back.
Really beautiful property that slopes down to a lovely creek, with plenty to sniff along the way. Hosts have clearly put a lot of thought and effort into making this welcoming and fun. The main trails are well graded, wide and clearly maintained with rainy days in mind. Recommend still wearing sturdy shoes - especially if you plan to go on side trails. (There's a map at the parking area of the trails and then they have marked them along the way!) This also looks to be a well shaded location for when summer arrives.
The property has clear boundaries but not a literal fence the whole way like a dog park. It was sufficient to keep my adventurous hound from following her nose too far astray.
For Reactive Dogs: This was really private and once you get past the parking area, there really isn't an opportunity to see other people, cars, etc - truly is private. One of the dogs with us was reactive to strangers and the hosts were really accommodating to his needs. But really, the place is private enough there aren't going to be other people or dogs walking past - even where you park.
Looking forward to visiting again!Mandy S.

FAQ about our Gervais dog hiking trails
Are dog hiking trails safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks are much safer than a city or county park. With a Sniffspot off-leash area all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 93% of reviews on Sniffspot visits are 5 stars. Our hiking trails tend to be outside the city, which lends to more privacy, but it is also important to follow typical hiking safety precautions, such as potentially having trail maps.
How can I find dog hiking trails in Gervais?
There are 12 dog hiking trails in the Gervais area. The most popular dog hiking trail is Tail Waggers. You can browse all of our dog hiking trails here.
How do I know if a dog hiking trail works for my dog?
Sniffspot provides the tools to find the ideal spot. Start by applying basic filters, such as fencing 6 feet tall and distractions, to find a dog park with trails that works for your dog. You can also filter by size if you are looking for a certain acre park, an expansive off-leash dog park. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our fully fenced dog hiking trails. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our dog hiking trails where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. Since you are looking for trails, make sure to check photos to see if it the spot has flat trails or gnarly trails. You can also browse by specific amenities, if you are looking for a view or a beach, for instance, or other activities or fun features. You can check whether the spot has off or on street parking, the regular park hours, whether it has paved trails or a modern restroom.
What are the requirements to bring my dog to a Sniffspot dog hiking trail?
