Nature in the City is a unique Private Dog Park that is 1 1/2 acres of beautiful natural land with varied landscapes. Step out of the city and into our natural setting that features different areas including 2 grassy fields perfect for fetch w/discs, ropes, or toys, (balls are not best here due to all of the surrounding bushes), a couple of forested areas, several nature trails for hiking adventures, and a wetland-like area with a healthy little creek that’s a hit with the pups. They can wade, cool off, and drink from the natural water. Your dogs will have so many different sniffing and secure off-leash exploring opportunities here! Our spot is so much more than just a fenced field! The area is diverse and so much fun for your dog(s)! This is a great spot to work on recall. There are a couple areas on the trails that are a little steep, there’s a trail where you have to walk over logs 🪵, and the little creek has to be stepped over in places, so people with limited mobility may have issues in these areas of the spot. There are two bridges over the creek, and we will be adding one more bridge at the far west end of the spot soon. There are plenty of spaces and trails that are suitable for all abilities. If you’re looking for a basic fenced field to play chuck-it then this probably isn’t your spot. We are continually working on our property, so every time you visit you will see improvements! We provide a rain/sun shelter with 4 foldable chairs (message us in advance if you need more chairs and we’ll put them out for you), and lots of supplies including dog toys & balls, poop bags, hand sanitizer, natural bug spray, sunscreen, wipes, hand towels, first aid kit, and a cornhole yard game. We also provide snacks and beverages for humans and doggos! Located outside are 2 zero-gravity reclining chairs, a kids size picnic table, a round metal table w/umbrella & 4 metal chairs, and fresh drinking water for your pups. There are open areas with sun ☀️, and there is shade all day due to many large trees. Our property is VERY secure with 5 to 6 ft fencing. We walk the fence line regularly and check to make sure it’s secure. We are located close-in on the Westside of Vancouver one mile from I-5 on 78th Street in West Hazel Dell near Felida. *It gets muddy in areas when it has been wet/raining outside. We have wood chips along trails and in muddy areas which help a lot! Come prepared so you enjoy your visit. **We recently added 6 solar flood lights in the main field area for those of you who visit after dark. They provide subtle light at the entryway, main field, and the shelter for about 4-5 hrs after it gets dark outside. If you you want to explore the trails after dark we recommend putting a collar light on your dog(s), and that you bring headlamps and flashlights 🔦. ***We recently added a small bridge over the middle section of the creek! Come down the first driveway. You will see a white address sign “Windenfir” You will then see a sign “Windenfir Training Field.” Parking avail in front of gate, near the exit, or in front of garage (just not blocking garage door). Agility course, tennis balls, fresh water, and poo buckets available. Hose is on if not freezing temps. After going though Windenfir training field gate you will see the back gate with a sign “Windenfir Dog Pasture." Great place to explore and let them sniff. Looking to the right when out in the pasture, the neighbors Goldens occasionally bark. Two fences between properties on this side. Owner usually calls them when barking. The pasture has goat droppings so no surprises. This is a farm :) Chickens and goats in separate area and visible to dogs (see photos). Don’t be surprised if they come up to the fence to see what’s going on. The animals have been raised around dogs and are not bothered by them. They would come out if they could. Very nice field fencing in pasture. Chain link/field fencing in training field. As of now the training field and pasture are muddy and slick in areas. Agility equipment can be slick also due to rain. Check pasture area if deciding to throw a ball/stick/small child :). Hard packed in areas and not level in some. Playhouse is open for photos and kids. Hello I am Mookie, a Golden Doodle who loves to play ball and my Human is Grace. She got me this place with a long yard, perfect for playing with a chuck it! I begged for a pug and she let me have Frankie. We are happy to share our yards which have different areas for different Dog needs. Human needs can be taken care of too. We are relatively new to Sniffspot and will be adding new features as we go. Our pictures show how much we have changed since we opened the very snowy end of January. Frankie and I will not be coming out to visit your dogs, but once you leave we will enjoy learning about them on our scent hunt. We believe this will create a lot of interest and fun for us and for your special family members too. A little info about my place, I have safe space to unload and load the doggos. Important to close the gate as you enter and exit the property. Everywhere is fenced. It is 2 acres total, the area that you will be playing in is a very nice long field with a small pool which gets changed between guests, and a larger one that My human adds water to between guests. it looks dirty, however, it is from the sand box and dirt hills that my human made for the dogs to play in. It is too large for her to clean after each guest. There is a water hose with a shower head that you can use for play and clean up as well. Added attraction, MOLES and we love sniffing after them. Be watchful of holes that my human missed filling between guests, she tries very hard to find them, but Frankie is a digger! This is a place for fun , everything is not perfect , but the yard is a lot of fun for Frankie and also for me! We love to explore and sometimes we see deer here and other wild animals! UPDATE: All fences are secure. IF for some reason your dog slips out the farm gate entrance to the sniff spot, the entire property is fenced, and your dog will not get out. There is a shade canopy which will protect from the rain and some chairs to relax in. You may encounter holes because dogs love to dig in the soft turf and the hill of dirt, please let me know if you find some that my human and I have not gotten filled between visits and she will fix that! With so many trees, there will be branches down. I find that the dogs love to pick through those sticks. I try to keep on top of the really big ones, but if you see any let my human know. PLEASE NOTE: If your ball or other toys go over the fence, they now belong to my neighbor! PLEASE You must not go over the fence to get them!! I have other balls and will be happy for you to use them while here, if they go over, I can deal with him later! Thank you for your consideration of my neighbors. Please take pictures of your beautiful happy dogs and share here! Let's make other dogs and humans know there is a safe place to play! A “Tug of War”spring loaded grab bar for pups who like a good tug of war. Multiple pup fresh water dispensers, with bowls for them. Multiple Doggie Poop Depots with poop bag dispensers so for your convenience, no need to carry that around while you explore the 15 acres. ( Fair Warning.. very low tolerance for a guest who does not pick up after their pup) Two wooded trails areas that we have just begun to develop for the wild side areas to explore. A Large professional Obstacle Course with most of the obstacles course pieces seen on U-Tube. Toy stations with a large variety of toys to select from (Please be considerate for the next guest, return them back to the station after use). Porta Potty for humans was hand sanitizer, lime dispenser to process waste and illuminate odor. Two Frisbee Gulf course areas under development. Bring your own disks to play while you pup sniffs,…or rent a back pac of putters, mid range and long range disks from us. Scott Creek: We are 5 minutes from Clackamas Town Center, at one acre enclosed field and hills with Mt Scott Creek meandering through, the creek is not fenced at both ends and runs all year; the water level reduces in the summer, but there are spots where dogs can still submerge and cool off on hot days. In the winter, the water level rises and turns into rushing torrents after a few days of heavy rain. The spot is pesticide-free and the creek side can get wet and muddy in the winter, otherwise the majority of the fields, especially the upper fields, are completely dry. Sniffin' Hours: Monday through Sunday: 8 am to 9 pm (Spring & Summer) 8 am to 4:30 pm (Autumn & Winter) Our two 5-year-old Doberman and mastiff mixes will be indoor for the entire duration of your visit. this is a great spot! nice flat, open field so my boys could just RUN. the neighbor has some cows, so is your dog is reactive to large animals, this might not be the best place. these are a lot of little critters burrowed in the ground which my guys really took to. they were digging and trying to get whatever was underground. they had a blast. we’ll definitely be back!

Grateful for Jessica taking the time to meet us and show us the lay of the land. Helped me know exactly where to go and how to enjoy our time there. My pup Stella is usually terrified of fireworks and loud booms, but she was completely unphased by the gunshots in the background (seasonal hunting nearby). Really great practice for her. Dusty dog loved stonping around in the water. All in all a very good time!!! Beautiful property.

We were met by Jessica who gave us an overview of the property. So much to explore! We found Chuck-it ball in the grass and played with it for a bit. (We left it for the next lucky pup.) After wandering through the open field, we headed to the river side of the trail. Oh, the smells! Chuck had her nose in everything. Definitely coming back for more fun! We keep Chuck on a long line because she’s just a puppy and we want to make sure we can keep her safe. Plenty of space that she could have been off leash.

Amazing property and lovely owner! Jessica met me to give me a lay of the land at the beginning. My pup is a rescue that is still getting used other dogs, so I’m grateful for spaces that allow us to roam without other pups. We wandered down by the water and out in the field. So many great smells and water wading for the pup to enjoy. Can’t wait to come back!

We love this spot! We’ve come here at least 4 or 5 times now and we always meet up with our friends and their dogs. It’s such a nice big property it leaves plenty of space for our some what reactive pups to coexist with each other. An hour is plenty of time to get 2 laps around the property and our dogs are always tired and satisfied when we leave :) highly recommend even during the muddiest seasons.

Are dog fields safe?

If you are looking for an adventure, but also looking for safety, Sniffspot dog fields are a great option. While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, distracted dog owners, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks are much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private space for just you and doggy friends you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). Especially for training, privacy is ideal. What are the requirements to bring my dog to a Sniffspot dog field?

We require that all four-legged friends have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. We do not allow dogs with a bite history. We require that guests sign our waiver and agree to follow our safety rules. Make sure to check host rules before visiting to ensure, for instance, that you are following allowable sports activities rules and any special events rules.

Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot field at the same time as me?

No. Facility rentals are for private play time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the area during visits, so this is perfect for a private adventure for you and your doggie friends, and perhaps a human friend. Hosts understand that many guests have dogs in training and are nervous owners. So when you book a Sniffspot dog field you have the entire private spot to yourself. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between time slots so you will not run into other guest dogs or a previous person when coming or leaving in the field parking area. Some hosts may have multiple fields, but there is always a buffer between fields.
