I begged for a pug and she let me have Frankie. We are happy to share our yards which have different areas for different Dog needs. Human needs can be taken care of too. We are relatively new to Sniffspot and will be adding new features as we go. Our pictures show how much we have changed since we opened the very snowy end of January. Frankie and I will not be coming out to visit your dogs, but once you leave we will enjoy learning about them on our scent hunt. We believe this will create a lot of interest and fun for us and for your special family members too. A little info about my place, I have safe space to unload and load the doggos. Important to close the gate as you enter and exit the property. Everywhere is fenced. It is 2 acres total, the area that you will be playing in is a very nice long field with a small pool which gets changed between guests, and a larger one that My human adds water to between guests. it looks dirty, however, it is from the sand box and dirt hills that my human made for the dogs to play in. It is too large for her to clean after each guest. There is a water hose with a shower head that you can use for play and clean up as well. Added attraction, MOLES and we love sniffing after them. Be watchful of holes that my human missed filling between guests, she tries very hard to find them, but Frankie is a digger! This is a place for fun , everything is not perfect , but the yard is a lot of fun for Frankie and also for me! We love to explore and sometimes we see deer here and other wild animals! UPDATE: All fences are secure. IF for some reason your dog slips out the farm gate entrance to the sniff spot, the entire property is fenced, and your dog will not get out. There is a shade canopy which will protect from the rain and some chairs to relax in. You may encounter holes because dogs love to dig in the soft turf and the hill of dirt, please let me know if you find some that my human and I have not gotten filled between visits and she will fix that! With so many trees, there will be branches down. I find that the dogs love to pick through those sticks. I try to keep on top of the really big ones, but if you see any let my human know. PLEASE NOTE: If your ball or other toys go over the fence, they now belong to my neighbor! PLEASE You must not go over the fence to get them!! I have other balls and will be happy for you to use them while here, if they go over, I can deal with him later! Thank you for your consideration of my neighbors. About 3 sides are fenced in and there isn't a lot of traffic on the road. **Please note: the neighbor along the back of the field has a gate that is sometimes open. Their dog cannot get out of their yard because he is on an invisible fence. He is outside about 50% of the time. If your dog is reactive, and does not have good recall, PLEASE stay away from the back corner. I don't want guest dogs entering my neighbors yard and attacking their dog. The pastures are cross-fenced, allowing for room to explore but not too far. An indoor riding arena is available as an add-on. It is enclosed on three sides, keeping the wind and weather out during playtime. It is well-lit for evening use. Horses offer additional entertainment but are always a safe distance with a large space (enough to drive a large truck through) between fence lines. The animals are not reactive to the dogs even when barking at them. The farm animals don't respond to the dogs, so often the dogs move on to exploring the space. We have some simple agility items in the space along with balls and other toys to help entertain both you and your dogs. As a guest, you have access to: * Fully Fenced Acre of play space for off-leash adventures * Water - Lift the green handle to start the flow of water * Poop baggies * White garbage can * Dog towels, clean ones in the clear container, and dirty ones go into the grey tote. We ask you to use 1 towel per visit if possible. * Porta Potty * Shelter with chairs and a small table you can put anywhere in the field during your visit we just ask that you put them back when you are done. * During the summer days we include a doggie pool. They are blue kiddie pools. Double them up when you use them so they are easier to empty and less likely to break. Please dump the pool and return it to the corner when you are finished. IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION: This is a field that has uneven ground including mole and gopher holes. Please watch your step. Please keep within the Sniffspot area. If you happen to throw a ball over a fence just message me and I can retrieve it for you. It is important to stay outside of areas marked private property. Those gates also have extra locks, but we want to be sure everyone stays safe. USE OF INDOOR ARENA: During harsh weather (over 95 degrees or winter would be those days of wind and heavy rain) the indoor arena may be an option. Nature in the City is a unique Private Dog Park that is 1 1/2 acres of beautiful natural land with varied landscapes. Step out of the city and into our natural setting that features different areas including 2 grassy fields perfect for fetch w/discs, ropes, or toys, (balls are not best here due to all of the surrounding bushes), a couple of forested areas, several nature trails for hiking adventures, and a wetland-like area with a healthy little creek that’s a hit with the pups. They can wade, cool off, and drink from the natural water. Your dogs will have so many different sniffing and secure off-leash exploring opportunities here! Our spot is so much more than just a fenced field! The area is diverse and so much fun for your dog(s)! This is a great spot to work on recall. There are a couple areas on the trails that are a little steep, there’s a trail where you have to walk over logs 🪵, and the little creek has to be stepped over in places, so people with limited mobility may have issues in these areas of the spot. There are two bridges over the creek, and we will be adding one more bridge at the far west end of the spot soon. There are plenty of spaces and trails that are suitable for all abilities. If you’re looking for a basic fenced field to play chuck-it then this probably isn’t your spot. We are continually working on our property, so every time you visit you will see improvements! We provide a rain/sun shelter with 4 foldable chairs (message us in advance if you need more chairs and we’ll put them out for you), and lots of supplies including dog toys & balls, poop bags, hand sanitizer, natural bug spray, sunscreen, wipes, hand towels, first aid kit, and a cornhole yard game. We also provide snacks and beverages for humans and doggos! Located outside are 2 zero-gravity reclining chairs, a kids size picnic table, a round metal table w/umbrella & 4 metal chairs, and fresh drinking water for your pups. There are open areas with sun ☀️, and there is shade all day due to many large trees. Our property is VERY secure with 5 to 6 ft fencing. We walk the fence line regularly and check to make sure it’s secure. We are located close-in on the Westside of Vancouver one mile from I-5 on 78th Street in West Hazel Dell near Felida. *It gets muddy in areas when it has been wet/raining outside. We have wood chips along trails and in muddy areas which help a lot! Come prepared so you enjoy your visit. **We recently added 6 solar flood lights in the main field area for those of you who visit after dark. They provide subtle light at the entryway, main field, and the shelter for about 4-5 hrs after it gets dark outside. If you you want to explore the trails after dark we recommend putting a collar light on your dog(s), and that you bring headlamps and flashlights 🔦. ***We recently added a small bridge over the middle section of the creek! Private Dog Park on 1+ Acres near Mt. Scott Creek: We are 5 minutes from Clackamas Town Center, at one acre enclosed field and hills with Mt Scott Creek meandering through, the creek is not fenced at both ends and runs all year; the water level reduces in the summer, but there are spots where dogs can still submerge and cool off on hot days. In the winter, the water level rises and turns into rushing torrents after a few days of heavy rain. The spot is pesticide-free and the creek side can get wet and muddy in the winter, otherwise the majority of the fields, especially the upper fields, are completely dry. What a fun spot! Our dogs had five secure acres to explore. One of our dogs would explore the whole countryside if he could so I was glad there weren't any gaps to accommodate him. He wasn't bored inside the spot though, there was plenty of space and cool things to catch his interest. The shaded seating area was perfectly comfortable and in a great place to view the countryside. A big pail of water and a supply of doggy treats were nearby. The highlight for my herding dogs was the adjacent cow pasture. The cows just looked at them as if to say, "hey, what's the big deal?" :) Thanks for sharing your spot with us, Melanie! Can't wait to bring my husband to join us next time!

If you have dogs that love to all-out run and explore, this spot is amazing. Our high-energy dogs are in love with this place. There are diverse areas to explore; long grass, mowed field, ditches - some with water, trees and shrubs, and cattle in the adjacent pasture. There are balls and frisbees strewn about the acres, a pail of water, seating in a couple places, and dog treats. We went on a cloudy, misty day and was totally refreshed by our time spent in this beautiful countryside. Thanks, Melanie!!

This spot was fantastic for us! Our pups loved all the space to run and played with the toys. My 5yo pittie Rosie ran up to the fence to meet the neighbor dog and they became fast friends. What a fantastic space for the dogs to play! The location was easy to find, and parking/turn around area was ample. I'm glad I looked at the pictures before going, otherwise I wouldn't have known it was okay to go on both sides of the house. The 4" square wire fencing was perfectly fine for our dogs, though small dogs intent on escaping could get through the square spaces of the fence wire. It appeared the ditch near the road was adequately fenced for the medium sized dogs, didn't investigate too closely. We didn't see or hear any other dogs. My dog was fascinated by the cattle, but they were well away from the fence when we visited and the hot wire on their side was active. There were indeed, holes in the gopher area (marked by a sign on the NE side of the house) and I found a few - but that's to be expected, and no harm done! This site was clean and beautiful. We had a fantastic time and will definitely be back!! Thanks for making your property available to let people give their dogs a safe place to RUN and play!

Frankie loved romping around the field and gopher holes and allllll the sniffs. Plenty of space to roam. There’s a lot of places for dogs to sniff under things so if you have a small dog that won’t come out on their own just know that’s a thing. Please note it’s the first of the two driveways close together. The photos at the end helped us know we were at the right one.

This spot was fun! We didn’t have many instructions to go off of, but we figured it out. Open the gate with the Sniff Spot sign to drive in, lock it behind you, and park in the back of the house. There is a big grassy field in back with dog toys scattered throughout. There were some resident dogs next door that came up to the fence to check us out but we redirected our dogs away so they wouldn’t bother them. There were some cows hanging out two fields over that intrigued my youngest dog - definitely the biggest “dogs” she’s ever seen. We spent most of our time in the back field running around until we realized we could explore the front and side yard areas in front of the house. My 3 girls loved exploring, jumping in puddles, running across the small grassy creek that separates the front and side yard, and inspecting the gopher holes. The fencing was secure for our medium sized dogs. Overall, a good time for all.

Lots of space to run! Clean and flat terrain. Easy to find with instructions from the host + Sniffspot sign. There were cows in the pasture adjacent who weren’t curious enough to get close to the fence. With the rainy weather, there were some puddles that my pups loved. Overall an amazing place. Well worth the commute and we will be back!

Huge spot to run around and explore! Lots of water this time of year but no problem for our dog as she splashed around a bit in stream. She enjoyed looking at the cows right next door who seemed unfazed. Tried the teeter totter and checked out the digging zone on the front side. Beautiful drive to Yamhill. Hope to go back!

This was our first time using Sniffspot, and it was the perfect place for it! The space is huge, and great for multiple dogs. We had four with us, and they all had ample space to run around, fetch, and explore. They loved smelling at the fence, and watching the cows in the neighboring field (which were super chill, and clearly use to dog chaos next door). Melanie had several things set up for us to use; tunnels, toys, and a teeter totter for some agility fun. Access was simple and easy, with a secure gate making us confident all our pups were contained. We highly recommend this spot, and we look forward to returning!

Awesome place to run a dog or multiple dogs. We are in Oregon so of course it’s muddy but that makes it more fun. The cows and chickens next door didn’t cause any issues for my pup. Over all great sniff spot!

What are the requirements to bring my dog to a Sniffspot dog field?

We require that all four-legged friends have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. We do not allow dogs with a bite history. We require that guests sign our waiver and agree to follow our safety rules. Make sure to check host rules before visiting to ensure, for instance, that you are following allowable sports activities rules and any special events rules.

Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot field at the same time as me?

No. Facility rentals are for private play time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the area during visits, so this is perfect for a private adventure for you and your doggie friends, and perhaps a human friend. Hosts understand that many guests have dogs in training and are nervous owners. So when you book a Sniffspot dog field you have the entire private spot to yourself. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between time slots so you will not run into other guest dogs or a previous person when coming or leaving in the field parking area. Some hosts may have multiple fields, but there is always a buffer between fields.
