Service areas:

Tampa Bay

Mercy Full Project was founded in October 2019 as a Nonprofit organization located in the Tampa Bay Area. We focus our efforts mainly in Animal rescue and helping the helpless animals in our community, We take in all animals from all different situations such as Medical Cases at the shelters that face euthanasia, Behavioral cases that need longer and special training sessions, Owner surrenders that come to us from multiple reasons and these owners cannot longer have them, Stray animals found all over Florida, Animals facing euthanasia at Overloaded shelters even outside of Florida as Georgia and Alabama, and Emergency cases when the animals are injured from accidents or Animal Abused. We are a foster home-based animal rescue, and we are always looking for families to open the doors of their homes to help us help these pure souls in need. Being a foster does not require much as we provide all supplies needed and cover all vet expenses. All that Requires is a little more time and love to spend with an animal in need. Once the animal is ready for Adoption, we use all our tools to find their perfect match and these happy stories are what we call Happy Tails.

Mission and Vision

We envision a world with more Empathy, Kindness and Love for all living creatures.

Adoption Policy

Our adoption process is as follows: - Mercy Full Projects posts our adoptable pets on our www.mercyfullprojects.org site and mercyfullprojects.petfinder.com - Potential Adopters fill out the application which can be found on the website. *Do note that only applications with submitted applications in the link above are considered as potential adopters. - Mercy Full Projects Adoption coordinator looks over the applications from a holistic point of view. - Each adoptable has a few "must haves" as part of their profile, so we try to match our adoptable with potential adopters who have this. - Mercy Full Projects Adoption coordinator reaches out to the selected potential adopters, do note that this does not guarantee adoption, and notifies the potential adopter of: - Adoptable adoption Fee - Adoption coordinator will schedule a 5 minute "Get to Know you call" - After the call they will determine if to move forward or not and we will email you with an answer. - Adoption coordinator will set up a meet and greet with the adoptable if the above has been agreed upon. *Do note that meet and greets does not guarantee adoption because it's important that our adoptable choose their adopter as well. - After all meet and greets have been conducted, Mercy Full Project's admin team and foster family will select the foreverrrr family! - Mercy Full will contact references from the adopter's application form. - Mercy Full will ask for a home video. - Mercy Full requires an adoption contract to be filled and an adoption fee (All adoption fees are posted on our website and will be disclosed prior to the meet and greet) to be paid online after the adoption contract is signed. - Mercy Full will set up the adoptable pick up! - The adopter will receive vet records and adoption certificate.

"Mercy Full Project is amazing! I adopted my dog from them a little over 1.5 years ago. They made sure to call references and get a video of my house to ensure the safety of the dog. I now foster dogs for the rescue. They take in dogs from other shelters, owner surrenders, and strays that are found near the rescue. All dogs live with fosters before being adopted out, and they aren't adopted out until a suitable home is found for them. The owner often takes in dogs in serious condition that no other shelters will accept! Everyone treats the dogs like family."

"Conscientious, passionate, and determined, the founder of Mercy Full Project (MFP), and dedicated volunteers work hard to advocate for all animals, and find them loving homes. MFP, like many rescues, rarely rests, and is always on-call with intakes, and animal emergencies, but still manages to develop and maintain key relationships with fosters, adopters, volunteers, and the surrounding community. MFP founder, Heydi Acuna, puts great emphasis on the adoption process to minimize adoption failures, and to ensure animals are going to their perfect forever home. Her tough, no-nonsense persona keeps the organization running smoothly, but it is her enormous heart, kindness, and compassion that make this rescue thrive as part of the Tampa Bay community. Heydi, and the MFP volunteers are the epitome of rescue, and should be recognized for their efforts."

"I fostered 43 puppies before adopting Stormy. She's the love of my life. The group always made the best decision for the rescue pups and went above and beyond to get the best matched homes. The fosters have a lot of input in the adoption process which makes us feel secure in our pups placement. They put in more hours than exist in a day and pour their hearts into it."

"We found the Mercy Full project by searching Petfinders. We applied online in July 2021. The online process was easy & we were able to upload picts of our yard to ensure a save space for our new dog. A few days later, we received a call about an ipcoming adoption event. Unable to attend myself my husband & our older dog went. My husband brought the adoption fee & set out to meet the 2 puppies, sisters we inquired about. One was already adopted, but our Buttercup (Powerpuff Girls!) was there. Mercy Full made the adoption process easy with our prefilled info, & Buttercup was able to come home that day! Chipped & spayed before adoption made it easy to welcome our little girl home. Their Happy Tails facebook page makes it possible to see her sister’s pictures growing up & its great to see all the lucky families!"

"I have been a foster with Mercy Full Project since 2020. Heydi Acuna is the most amazing person with the biggest heart for animals and people. I have watched her grow from running the rescue out of the back of her suv to obtaining a facility and staffing it. She has some of the most innovative outreach programs and events always putting the animals best interests first. This is an incredible organization."

"In July 2022, Mercy Full Project received an urgent call about 4 puppies living in deployable conditions in a backyard. They arrived to find these 5-week-old German Shepherd puppies living outside, with no water, severely underweight, malnourished and covered in fleas. As a volunteer, I helped to bathe the puppies and they were promptly given medical treatment, food, water and placed into foster homes to help them heal. Sadly, the puppies were in such poor condition, one of them did not make it through the night. I immediately fell in love with them and adopted one to become a part of my own family. I am happy to say they were all adopted and thriving in their new homes. Without Mercy Full Project, there is no doubt we would have lost all of them. Mercy Full Project rescues many unfortunate cases similar to this from backyard breeders that are commonly found in the Florida area. I have been volunteering with them for 3 years and am always amazed at the lives they save and the good work they do."

"I adopted my one year old chihuahua mix from here almost a year ago to the day, and the experience was wonderful! I loved how thorough they were in their vetting process and making sure every dog finds their perfect home. Making sure people understand what each dogs’ needs is so key to making sure the home lasts. Also, the girl who fostered my dog before I adopted was so sweet. She kept in touch to let me know about what my dog was being fed before and made sure any questions I had were answered."

Thousand Oaks, California has been a safe haven for Sniffspot host, Jen, since childhood. Having grown up in busy Santa Barbara, Jen, an introvert from an early age, would seek out solitude and serenity away from tourists attractions and droves of people visiting from elsewhere. “My grandparents own 60 acres about a 30 minute drive from here, and I grew up spending every summer and every holiday visiting them on the ranch,” Jen explained. “In Santa Barbara, we wouldn't go to the beach on the weekend because that's where everybody was, so you'd find places off the beaten path where the tourists weren't. For me, the ranch was just my happy place.”

American Brittany Rescue, Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization formed in 1991 as a cooperative effort of Brittany owners, breeders, trainers, and fanciers who ABR believes have a responsibility not only for their own dogs and the dogs they produce, but for the breed as a whole. For 30 years, the organization of volunteers has worked to rescue Brittanys and place them in loving homes. Over the years, thousands of dogs have found hope and a forever home, thanks to our placement efforts. Nearly 9,000 dogs have been rescued and lovingly adopted into carefully selected households. Included in this number are dogs from nearly every state, Canada as well as Greece and Spain. This work is accomplished by an army of dedicated ABR volunteers. There are over 1,500 amazing, active volunteers located within all 50 states and across Canada. From the President and Board members to the volunteers and the all-important foster families, each one plays an important role.
