Rockers Rescue is located around Shreveport, Louisiana. The non profit was founded in November of 2015 by Megan DeMoss. Rockers Rescue is dedicated to providing exemplary vetting care, loving foster homes, and finding amazing forever homes for both dogs and cats in need! We focus passionately on saving animals at our local shelters, helping with severe cases and educating the public when possible. Our animals are TREASURED as our own and receive the best of care! We're here to be a stepping stone from unwanted and in need, to forever loved and treasured. We are a 501c3 non profit rescuing both dogs and kitties in need and we have no breed restrictions. We love them all. We function with volunteers so donations FULLY benefit the rescue!
We fall in love with dogs and kitties that are in need. Dirty, scared, malnourished, mange, heartworms, embedded collars, elderly, bottle feeders, etc. When we pull a dog or cat under our rescue …. they are treated as if they are our own personal pets. They receive ALL vet care. We get them fixed, microchipped, and up to date. We nurture them back to health and we get attached to them. From kittens without a mom, to senior dogs without a hope. We see lots of them evolve from scared and discarded pets to beautiful happy ones. Most go from a high kill shelter with no hope… to a lovely AMAZING pet.
Adoption Policy
Adoption Process
Step 1 – Fill out our dog or cat application online:
Rockers Rescue is located around Shreveport, Louisiana. We use foster homes for our pets. You start with doing an online adoption app for pre-approval. You still get to meet the animal and see if you are meant to be, before you adopt.
WHY must I do an app first? We do this to help keep our volunteers safe and respect their time, as well as a courtesy to the potential adopter. We love helping match people with a pet that would thrive in their new home. The good news is, if you adopt a Rockers pet, this information is automatically saved into a chart linked to your new pet.
Step 2 – Upon app approval schedule meet!
Are you ready to meet your potential new family member?! That's what happens after your app is approved! Meets are dependent upon the individual pet and their needs. We will often meet inside PetSmart Shreveport in a private room or at Hollywood Feed in Shreveport (to the left of Whole Foods). Special cases will go to the adopters home to see how they do.
Step – 3 It’s meet day!:
At our meet, you get to see the pet(s) you are interested in and see if you are a great match. If both parties feel like its a good match, you are able to adopt and take your pet home! For adoption, you will fill out our adoption contract and make any adoption donations that were set. Those can be made by card, cash, or paypal. We will also have the pets vet records all in a folder for you. In most cases we can also provide adoption coupons from the store we are at.
For cats: We do require the new owner bring a pet carrier to get their feline friend home and for future needs.
For dogs, ID tags are great! We can place their microchip tag on them until you get one. It helps if you bring your own leash. We usually send them with a collar.
Step – 4 Take me Home:
Thank you for adopting and helping us change a life! Plus you helped make room for another life to be saved. The rescue will get your new pets microchip information transferred to you. Our precious and loved animal is now in your care. Remember there is a transition period for any new pet. They must get use to their new family, home, and routine. Love them and help them through this time. They need you just as much as they needed us to be kind and understanding. Never forget though, if for any reason you can no longer keep your pet, or it isn't working out, it is in our contract that we do take them back. They are forever a part of our family.
Step – 5 Keep in Touch:
We love getting updates from our alumni! Trust me, we likely talk about them all the time! Feel free to share pictures in our facebook group, email us, or facebook us. We thoroughly enjoy seeing our Rockers babies happy and loved. Often these updates come just when we need them. They can be very uplifting for us. As we all know, rescue life is full of emotions. You get to be one of the happy ones we treasure.
Follow us on Facebook too! You can even swing your pet by one of our pet friendly events if able. We often have fundraisers and would love the support to help us continue our efforts. We hope you will be a lifelong friend. Thank you for joining the Rockers family.

Get your dog the safe enrichment they need by renting a Sniffspot

David Adams is a man of many passions, but his love for dogs stands above all. He is not only a dog lover, but also the founder of an innovative platform called Sniffspot. This unique platform connects dog owners with private property owners who are willing to rent out their space for off-leash playtime. While the idea of Sniffspot was initially conceived by his wife, Rebecca, David has been the driving force behind its remarkable success, tirelessly overseeing its growth and development.
David's dedication to providing safe and enjoyable spaces for dogs to play, explore, and socialize is evident in his unwavering commitment to Sniffspot. He strongly believes that dogs need ample space and opportunities to stretch their legs and have fun. As a result, he has worked tirelessly to build a network of private property owners across the country who share his vision and are willing to offer their space for the benefit of dogs and their owners.
Despite his busy schedule, David always finds time to indulge in his passion for the great outdoors. He loves nothing more than exploring new hiking trails and embarking on thrilling outdoor adventures. Whenever he is not working on Sniffspot, he can often be found hiking or visiting multi-acre fenced sniffspots with his two beloved dogs, Soba and Toshii. He is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys the fresh air, breathtaking scenery, and the sense of freedom that comes with being in nature.
David is based in Salem, MA.
