In 2005, Cherie DaLynn established For the Luv of Paws II, Inc. (FLP), a domestic animal rescue and sanctuary, after seeing the tremendous need to have a “no kill” sanctuary for domestic animals that had been neglected, abused and abandoned in Mohave County, Arizona. The rescue/sanctuary, which is located approximately 25 miles southwest of Kingman, AZ on ten (10) acres of land in Golden Valley, Arizona, is fully permitted and licensed by Mohave County and is recognized by the State of Arizona and the Internal Revenue Service as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. A board of directors oversees the operation of the shelter. Volunteers help keep For the Luv of Paws functioning and successful at fulfilling our mission. The rescue/sanctuary houses on average 200 dogs and cats each month, some who have special needs. All animals receive professional veterinarian care and required immunizations. Individuals or families who want to adopt a dog or cat from the sanctuary must complete an application, and if adopting a dog, have a secure, fenced yard and agree to a home inspection. No animal is released to their adoptive parents until they have received their immunizations and been spayed or neutered.

Mission and Vision

Rescue unwanted, abandoned, neglected animals from county shelters, city streets and unsafe living conditions. Take in owner-surrendered pets. Provide a loving, clean and safe environment, appropriate shelter, food and necessary medications to all the animals that come to us. Spay, neuter and vaccinate all intake animals before adoption. Secure, safe, loving homes for all adoptable animals through an extensive screening and follow up process. Provide lifetime sanctuary for those animals considered unadoptable because of illness, disabilities, etc. Develop educational programs for presentation to schools and community organizations, to include, but not limited to: The proper care of pets, spay/neuter, TNR and over-population. Work with animal control, other shelters, businesses and community organizations to reduce the number of pets and strays euthanized in our area. The Board of Directors reviews the mission objectives and activities once a year in order to assure that the activities of the organization strive toward attaining the objectives.

Adoption Policy

Process for adoptions: 1. Visit the rescue/sanctuary for a meet and greet. Sundays 1 to 4 pm; no appt. necessary 2. You may fill out application for chosen pet while at the rescue/sanctuary. If you have viewed the pet online prior to coming for meet & greet and are sure you will be adopting, print and fill out the adoption application from the website and bring with you to the rescue/sanctuary. 3. Place a deposit to hold the pet until: ➢ The puppy or adult dog is completely vetted: Spayed/neutered, rabies and series of four parvo/distemper vaccines have been completed. ➢ The cat or kitten is completely vetted: Spayed/neutered, snap test for Aids/leukemia and series of three FVRCP vaccines have been completed. ➢ Adopters outside a 60 mile radius of the rescue must submit photos/videos of their home, fenced yard and surrounding neighborhood; have references checked; application approved. ➢ Appt. for return trip to the rescue for pick-up of pet scheduled. ➢ If the application and photos are submitted before visit and application approved, upon visit to the rescue and pet chosen, the dog/cat can go home that day; no return trip necessary. ➢ Adopters within the 60 mile radius: Delivery of pet will be scheduled, usually within one week of completed veterinary procedures, and the physical home check done at that time. Adoption Fees: Puppies: $200, which covers the spay or neuter, rabies and parvo/distemper vaccines Adult dogs: $75 to $200 Kittens: $100 to $125, which covers the spay or neuter, snap test and FVRCP vaccines Adult cats: $100 to $125 Deposit: Minimum of $50 If FLP does not approve the application, deposit is refunded If potential adopter decides to not follow through, deposit is forfeited If you have additional questions, please send inquiries to flppupskits@yahoo.com.

He loves nothing more than exploring new hiking trails and embarking on thrilling outdoor adventures. Whenever he is not working on Sniffspot, he can often be found hiking or visiting multi-acre fenced sniffspots with his two beloved dogs, Soba and Toshii. He is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys the fresh air, breathtaking scenery, and the sense of freedom that comes with being in nature. David is based in Salem, MA.
