Texas Husky Rescue
#7 in United States, #1 in Texas, #1 in Dallas
Texas Husky Rescue, Inc. was created in May 2009 as a non-profit 501(c)3 animal rescue organization that is run entirely by volunteers and does not have a paid staff or a shelter. Texas Husky Rescue, Inc relies solely on volunteer foster families to take huskies into their homes until permanent, qualified, and loving homes can be found. Texas Husky Rescue, Inc. is a responsible animal adoption agency and ensures that none of our dogs will ever contribute to the overpopulation of dogs in our community. The work of Texas Husky Rescue, Inc. is supported by tax-deductible contributions by individuals, corporations, and grants.
Our initial goal when we began in 2009 was to save 30 huskies from area shelters. We have rescued over 2,500 and counting.

SAVING AUSSIES IN THE DFW & SURROUNDING AREAS
Two young women were helping out with two separate rescues when they crossed paths trying to help a dog for one another. They quickly became close friends. After they agreed that they each had a conflict of interest with the rescue they were helping they decided to work together to start their very own rescue and that was the day NTASR was born. While the president has amazing experience in the breed, the vice president has great experience in animal welfare administration so together they made the perfect pair. NTASR helps Australian Shepherds, Border Collies, and mixes of the two. They are open to working with other working or herding dogs as well depending on the circumstances. Don't think for a second these two women won't jump to help a dog in emergent need. Thus far, several other breeds have made their way through the rescue because of their kind and caring hearts including a doodle, a dachshund, a frenchie, and a shar pei. NTASR takes behavioral and medical dogs and gets them the appropriate rehab to be able to find them the perfect forever home. Aussies are such special breeds and deserve very particular and experienced homes.

Dallas Street Dog Advocates
#92 in United States, #15 in Texas, #7 in Dallas
Dallas Street Dog Advocates (DSDA) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that was formed by volunteers who care about the loose and stray street dog problem in Dallas.
What we have learned from our experience in rescuing dogs off the street is that many of them are highly adoptable. They yearn to love and be loved and deserve to be healthy, happy and have a home of their own. We have also learned that the people that live in the areas, where the stray dog problems are the worst, want our help. They are instrumental in helping us catch the strays by establishing feeding schedules and routines. They also tell us about the dog's history. Some are left when their owners move out. Some are tossed from moving cars. Some are born on the street to dogs that have been abandoned. The list goes on and on. If you can think of it, it has happened. The people have watched these dogs die of starvation, dehydration and heat stroke. They have watched them suffer after being hit by a car and left lying on the street. The dogs and the people living in these conditions need our help.
These dogs are typically socialized and do very well once they are rescued off the streets and given time to decompress. Dallas Street Dog Advocates goal is to rescue as many adoptable dogs off the streets as we can find foster homes for and have the funds to care for. After they are healthy and have lived in a foster home, then we find them forever homes. We see ourselves as a "bridge" between the homeless street dogs and their forever families.
We also want to serve the people who live amongst this problem by offering them dog food, flea and tick prevention, education on caring for their dogs and connecting them with available resources to have their dog spayed or neutered.
Together with the help of our volunteers and supporters, coupled with our passion and love for dogs, we will make a difference in Dallas one dog, one home, and one community at a time.

The Pawerful Rescue
#93 in United States, #16 in Texas, #8 in Dallas
The Pawerful Rescue was established in 2019 as a 501c3 nonprofit animal rescue, but our founder, Stephanie, had already been rescuing strays for years.
We all have a friend like that‚ don't we?
No matter where she went, Stephanie would find an animal in need. It wasn't until Stephanie moved to South Los Angeles, though, that she experienced an overwhelming number of animals in need. From that point, The Pawerful Rescue grew organically. What was once just a person picking up strays and trying to reunite, vet, or rehome these little souls, morphed into an organization that is made up of like-minded individuals making a difference.
Duke Hemstreet joined the rescue in 2020 and has been an instrumental part in the rescue flourishing.
Our rescue has expanded into Texas, where we dream of building a sanctuary for those fur babies that need a place to call home. Our goal has always been to find the perfect home for our rescues, but if that perfect home never comes, they get to live out their days with us!
We Rescue the Ones That Need the Most Rescuing!
Every rescue is different. Some are breed specific or even age specific. We've rescued everyone from a five-pound miniature Poodle, to a 100-pound paralyzed Great Dane. We gravitate toward animals with extreme medical, behavioral, and other special needs as well as senior dogs. They aren't the easiest cases, but certainly the most fulfilling to watch transform.
As The Pawerful Rescue continues to grow, we look forward to sharing every part of the journey with you.

Dog Ranch Rescue, Inc.
#98 in United States, #20 in Texas, #10 in Dallas
As the Lone Star Dog Ranch began to develop a following on social media, Renee Eden was contacted by multiple rescue groups asking for her help and expertise in rescuing dogs on death row, discarded breeder dogs, and dogs in shelters. She found that she had the facility (the Lone Star Dog Ranch), the expertise, the passion and energy to devote time to dogs in need.
In 2014 Dog Ranch Rescue, Inc. was founded as a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Dog Ranch Rescue is a separate non-profit business from the Lone Star Dog Ranch boarding facility. The rescue has it's own building and property adjacent to the Lone Star Dog Ranch property in Anna, TX. The rescue was formed to rescue and rehabilitate dogs in need from various sources, such as puppy mills, local shelters and strays. The rescue provides medical help for each dog, houses them, rehabilitates, socializes and trains them. The rescue accepts donations from the public that help cover all aspects of the cost associated with this process. When the dogs are restored to good health, spayed, neutered and have all of their needs met physically and socially we take the necessary steps to rehome them. Each home that a dog is placed in goes through a rigorous application and review process to ensure a positive outcome. If the placement of the dog is not a good fit the dog is accepted back into the rescue and the process begins again.
Since our inception in 2014 over 2,000 dogs have come through the door of Dog Ranch Rescue and gone on to enjoy a very happily ever after.

Border Collie Rescue & Rehab
#99 in United States, #21 in Texas, #11 in Dallas
We are a network of volunteer foster homes, which means all dogs adopted through us come from loving, caring homes straight to you. Since we don't use a holding facility, our dogs come to their new homes calm, relaxed, and ready for a new life, rather than being nervous and traumatized from the noise and chaos of a shelter. We evaluate, rescue, and rehabilitate abandoned Border Collies, as well as other herding breeds, and find homes that will love and cherish them forever.
All of our dogs have been fully vetted to include all vaccinations, heartworm test (and treatment, if necessary), spay/neuter, and a microchip with Border Collie Rescue & Rescue contact information. Upon adoption, you will be provided with physical proof of all treatments and veterinary reports, along with a rabies tag and chip information.
We will never withhold any animal information and are happy to disclose exactly where we got our dogs from and when. Our dogs have been temperament tested and reside in foster homes with active and diverse families just like yours! Our dogs are crate trained and housebroken and have received basic obedience training using only positive reinforcement techniques such as leading, shaping, R+, and counter-conditioning.
We believe a rescued dog brings experiences with them when rescued, and with our loving rehabilitation, they become perfect life partners. Their backgrounds may vary from breeders to farm dogs to strays but all of them deserve the unconditional love they will be glad to give their new families. We bring them into our homes and rehabilitate them by providing love, structure, and routine. We mend wounds and clean them up both emotionally and physically.
We know you have many choices of rescues to choose from. However, we believe once you get to know us, you will find our rescue family to be the perfect match for you and your family.

Based out of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, we rescue French Bulldogs from a variety of situations from shelters, owner surrenders, commercial breeders, or good Samaritans. We provide a warm home, vetting, spay and neuter, and provide the individualized care, whether medical or behavioral, these frenchies need prior to being adopted. Our goal is to find the right owner for our frenchies to ensure they are able to live a healthy and happy life in their loving home.
Our Family
Jacob and Tiffany fell in love with fostering French bulldogs for a local Australian Shepherd rescue. As the need for French Bulldog rescue heightened, the two conjured up the courage to create DFW French Bulldog Rescue, specializing in French Bulldogs.
Greyhounds Unlimited
#100 in United States, #22 in Texas, #12 in Dallas
Greyhounds Unlimited was founded in 1991 in Fort Worth, Texas by Hope Combest and several dedicated volunteers. As with most fledgling non-profits, we started small. However, it quickly became clear that we could acquire and adopt many more greyhounds than our small foster kennel could house.
Over the years, Greyhounds Unlimited has become more of a residential foster home-based organization. This means our volunteers foster any number of rescued greyhounds in their private homes until the dogs are placed in permanent homes. We have found using a residential foster home is the most effective means of ensuring that retired racing greyhounds become acclimated to a home environment prior to their adoption.
Our organization covers the north to central Texas areas. If you are not in our area, please call 1-800-GHOUNDS (1-800-446-8637) to find a greyhound rescue group in your area.
Greyhounds Unlimited has no paid staff. We are strictly a volunteer-run organization. All volunteers donate their time and energy at no cost.
We take a neutral stand on greyhound racing.
Good Neighbors Animal Rescue
#100 in United States, #22 in Texas, #12 in Dallas
GNAR was formed as a local solution to provide a hub for neighbors to come together to save pets and strays, and as a tax-deductible method to pool and distribute shared resources. We offer (and accept) as much or as little assistance to and from neighbors as is required or requested to facilitate the safety, health, and adoption of our community animals in need.
Examples that are put into action every day are the loans and donations of unused dog crates, pet carriers, collars, bowls, beds and more, which would otherwise be just accumulating dust in our neighbors' garages. These help keep a momma and her kittens safely housed indoors while they grow to adoptable ages, or help a foster home to train and keep their own pets separate from a new dog brought in from the street while waiting for vaccinations, testing, and neutering.
But most of all, GNAR neighbors work towards the larger goal of keeping the stray population in control to reduce the suffering of unwanted, homeless, and neglected animals.

Lone Star Labrador Retriever Rescue
#100 in United States, #22 in Texas, #12 in Dallas
Lone Star Labrador Retriever Rescue (Lone Star Lab Rescue) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, all volunteer organization, dedicated to saving purebred Labrador Retrievers from euthanasia in city shelters throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
Quick Facts About Lone Star Labrador Rescue
1. Our primary purpose is to re-home neglected or abandoned Labradors in safe and loving homes.
2. We do not have a shelter for potential adopters to visit. All of our dogs are placed into foster homes prior to adoption. They live as members of our family.
3. The majority of our dogs are between the ages of 1 and 5 years.
4. It is rare that we have puppies in our rescue.
5. All of our dogs are temperament tested and evaluated for suitability and re-homing potential.
6. LSLRR is made up entirely of volunteers who all share a love for Labs. We do not receive any payment for our time - we all work full time and "do rescue" after hours. Please be patient when asking for a reply.
7. Many of our dogs do not have formal obedience training - which is why training is part of our adoption contract.
8. If you have found a stray Labrador, please see "I just found a dog!" We are unable to accept a found Lab until ALL attempts to locate the dog's owner have been exhausted.
Lone Star Labrador Retriever Rescue is also committed to educating the public about responsible dog ownership. We believe that responsible pet owners spay or neuter their animals, keep them on an annual vaccination program, provide heart worm and flea preventative on a year round basis, provide basic training, and maintain their dogs as “inside” members of the family rather than as “outside” yard dogs.

Seeing a need to find more outlets for rehoming healthy, loving pet animals in other states Drowzydawg Rescue now participates in large transports to other states and it has become a very needed switch from standard adoptions of one animal at a time. Today's backyard breeders and puppy mills have created an overabundant number of pet animals and many never succeed in getting that loving home so we now work toward transporting them where they will be loved and wanted. We have saved almost 1,000 dogs and cats using this process
Duck Team 6
#100 in United States, #22 in Texas, #12 in Dallas
We are a 501(c) (3) non- profit organization that rescues dogs from the streets of Dallas. We are an all-volunteer group that captures hard-to-catch dogs that have lived their lives as strays. We are not a shelter so we rely on fosters and other rescue organizations to assist us until we can find permanent homes for the dogs we capture. We also provide full veterinary care including spay/neuter, microchips, and vaccinations for our ‚ Duck Dogs.
Please keep in mind that your help is needed throughout the process. If you find a dog that you've been trying to catch and you request our assistance, please take the next step and help us find the dog a place to go (foster, rescue, home) once captured. If needed, we will gladly direct you to a list of rescue groups in the DFW metroplex. Please see our ‚Resources Tab‚ for additional information and DT6 Partner Rescue Groups listed. We are deeply thankful for your compassion and willingness to help a dog in need!
Special Note: DT6 performs captures during our spare time (evenings and weekends). As a result, we may not be able to ‚deploy‚ on extremely short notice. We will do our best to remain in contact with Good Samaritans requesting help until we can take action.
Duck Team 6 doesn't just capture dogs! We have an excellent Community Outreach program that provides emergency medical assistance, food, supplies, and run builds for pets that qualify. We are huge advocates of education and litter prevention. We host free vaccination clinics for the community dogs in need as well as promotion or sponsorship of low cost or free spay/neuter surgeries to pet owners who could not afford to do so otherwise.
LifeLong Rescue
#100 in United States, #22 in Texas, #12 in Dallas
LifeLong Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit volunteer animal welfare organization whose purpose is to end the needless killing of homeless dogs and cats. In the Dallas area thousands of dogs, cats, puppies and kittens are killed or die in homeless conditions each year. Many of these are healthy, well-mannered animals - many of which would have been loving pets. These dogs and cats are euthanized daily because there's simply not enough room to keep them until homes can be found.
LifeLong Rescue is an organization funded by donations, charitable contributions, fundraising and adoption fees. We endeavor to find loving, lifelong homes for homeless dogs and other pets in the Dallas area of North Texas area.
The majority of our dogs and cats come from North Texas rural areas where they are abandoned. LifeLong Rescue rescues those animals who are in danger of being euthanized or dying due to lack of adequate care and the uncertain circumstances many dogs and cats endure while without a home. With very few exceptions, LifeLong Rescue does not take dogs from private homes. LifeLong Rescue's mission is to rescue dogs and cats that are homeless and we accept animals from the public on an exceedingly limited, case-by-case basis.
Our communities have a massive overpopulation of dogs, cats, kittens and puppies due primarily to irresponsible breeding and unchecked breeding. Many dog and cats are abandoned and in the wild. These pets go to area shelters and are euthanized, while others are left to suffer and die in the wild. LifeLong Rescue rescues adoptable dogs and cats primarily from abandonment and places these pets in volunteer foster homes or with other sister resuce organizations. By fostering dogs and cats in individual homes and providing adequate healthcare we are able to save lives and provide the public with healthy spayed or neutered dogs and cats. The foster home offers dogs and cats a nuturing, transition environment between abdonment and a new, lifelong home. Pets are given the chance to learn any needed social skills and to receive and any medical care they may need. Most importantly, many of these dogs and cats are shown love and kindness for the first time in their lives.
When LifeLong Rescue rescues a dog or cat from abandonment, that pet receives a veterinary exam, including appropriate vaccinations, as well as heartworm testing and preventative. All dogs older than 6 months of age are spayed or neutered. Dogs under 6 months of age are adopted under the agreement that they will be spayed or neutered at the appropriate time. Proof is required from each adopter in such cases. Cats must also be neutered if they are not at the time of adoption.
