Pearl's Place
#99 in United States, #21 in Texas, #1 in Killeen
Pearl's Place was named after Pearl, a 12+ year old yellow lab that I pulled from the Harker Heights, TX animal shelter the day before she was to be euthanized. Pearl lived with us and loved to be in the grooming shop until she passed away 4 years after she was rescued. During the outbreak of COVID and the grooming business having to be closed for a while, I was left pondering what to do with the empty boarding kennels and I decided to officially register Pearl's Place as a 501c3 nonprofit, which was IRS official in February 2021. My focus is senior and other special needs dogs to have a place to recover, heal mentally, physically and decompress.
We take in all kinds of special needs dogs at Pearl's Place; dogs with demodectic mange, bacterial, yeast or fungal infections, long term shelter residents, and even dogs from the street that are found and no one will claim. Since 2018, under the guidance and training of Dr. Faver and Suzanne Marchetti, I have been using top-quality products from Iv San Barnard that are imported from Italy, along with the revolutionary hydro-massage ozone bath. The shampoo and hydro-massage ozone bath helps to heal the dog's skin that have demodectic mange, bacterial, yeast or fungal infections, to name just a few. We have recently added another qualified pet aesthetician to Pearl's Place so we can help even more dogs get the care they need.

The Lampasas Animal Shelter is a collaborative effort between the City of Lampasas and the County of Lampasas for the housing of stray and unwanted animals. The Lampasas Animal Shelter is under the direction of the Lampasas Police Department. We accept animals from Lampasas County regardless of health, age, breed or temperament. We strive to assist the participating entities in enforcing the state law and local ordinances, and to otherwise serve our citizens.
What the Department Provides to the City
Since our opening in September of 2009, the shelter has been providing services such as:
o Stray admission
o Owner surrender admission for Lampasas City/County residents only, by appointment
o Lost pet reclaims
o Pet adoption
o Education to the public regarding animal health and the benefits of spay/neuter
All animal control calls and complaints must be dispatched from either the Lampasas Police Department (city residents) or the Lampasas Sheriff’s Office (county residents). All employees at the shelter are licensed Animal Control Officers that can answer basic law and ordinance questions regarding animal control issues, but we do not respond to animal control calls or complaints.

Structure. Communication. Management.
These are the building blocks of dog training. We at CoDa strive to bring effectual structure to your pup, communicate our desires to your dog in positive and reinforcing ways, all the while managing their behaviors. We then endeavor to transfer what we have taught the dog to our clients.
CoDa knows that every dog is unique, therefore we listen to you and build a program that will communicate to your dog the behaviors you desire and the ones you do not.
Association for a Pet Adoption Center (APAC)
#100 in United States, #22 in Texas, #2 in Killeen
The Association for a Pet Adoption Center (APAC) is a 501(c)3 not-for profit group of concerned volunteers who are working toward a time when homeless, unwanted animals are no longer being destroyed in our shelter, and when every dog and cat can be guaranteed a good life in a caring environment. All adoption fees and donations go to caring for the animals in our foster program, by paying for vaccinations, heartworm tests, and any other medical care needed.
APAC is a 100% volunteer foster home based rescue. Therefore, we do not have a facility, nor do we have any paid employees or staff.
Heart To Home Animal Adoption Center
#100 in United States, #22 in Texas, #2 in Killeen
Welcome to Heart To Home, formerly known as the Temple Animal Shelter. Over the past year, we have dedicated ourselves to transforming our shelter into a space that enhances the lives of our animals and improves the experience for both residents and staff. Our vision at Heart To Home is to reimagine the animal adoption process, ensuring a seamless and delightful experience at our facility while increasing our capacity to care for more animals.
Public and private animal shelters across the United States are filled with dogs and cats, including lost pets whose owners cannot be found, pets whose owners can no longer keep them, and animals of all ages and breeds. These animals share one hope: to find a permanent and loving home. Unfortunately, many of these animals will not find a new home. Why? Not enough people choose to adopt their animal companions from a shelter. The solution to this tragic problem starts with you! First, spay and neuter your current pets. Second, when you're ready to add a cat or dog to your family, visit the City of Temple's Heart To Home!

The Widdle Foundation
#100 in United States, #22 in Texas, #2 in Killeen
The Widdle Foundation is a tax-exempt 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization based in Central Texas. Here at The Widdle Foundation, we have an amazing team of volunteers who are taking their convictions and turning them into action. Their compassion and commitment to helping animals is the core of our foundation.
Our History
The Widdle Foundation was created to honor the memory of our founder’s sweet, loving yorkie named Selena, affectionately nicknamed “Widdle,” who lost her struggle with a recurring medical issue – in spite of all the care and attention she received. This experience spurred the vision for an energetic, nonprofit to support our community's animals through rescue & shelter, funding to assist with veterinary expenses, research into pet illnesses and other medical conditions, and education about the care and training of dogs.
Bosque animal Rescue Kennel
#100 in United States, #22 in Texas, #2 in Killeen
BARK is a non-profit 501(c) (3) animal rescue shelter that provides a temporary haven for lost, abandoned and mistreated dogs in Bosque County. In 2019 BARK took in over 130 animals, adopted 92, and assisted with spay/neuters for low income pet owners, as well as medical care and food for many others.
BARK is grateful for the generosity of so many caring individuals who have donated money, dog food, blankets and most recently a washer and dryer. We do not receive public funding and solely rely on private donations and fundraising efforts. We also appreciate the many volunteers who often give up a part of their life to attend adoption events and help with fundraisers. BARK could not do its work without the community support it receives!
